Junes Butler

Junes E. Butler, 85, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Hayti, Mo., died Saturday, April 20, 2002, at the Methodist North Hospital in Memphis.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today, Tuesday, April 23, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with the Rev. Blan Stout officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti. Everett Brumley

Everett Lee Brumley, 88, of Black Rock, Ark., died Saturday, April 20, 2002, at the Randolph County Medical Center.

Born Oct. 7, 1913, in Kennett, son of the late William (Will) and Eugenia Moore Brumley, he was U.S. Army veteran serving in WWII, a retired farmer and of the Baptist faith.

On Dec. 14, 1957, he married Georgia Davis, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include three daughters, Jennifer Gilley, of Marie, Alva Harston, of Imboden and Diana Johnston, of Pocahontas; one sister, Pearline Seats, of Ravenden and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Dave Brumley; two brothers and one sister.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, April 23, with Bro. John Stoll officiating.

Burial will follow in the Opposition Cemetery near Ravenden.

Johny Hopper

Johny Lee Hopper, 52, of Festus, Mo., died Wednesday, April 17, 2002, at his residence.

Born Dec. 21, 1949, in Senath, Mo., son of the late Arthur and Alma Morris Hopper, he was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include two sons, Johny Lee Hopper, Jr. and Brock Hopper, both of Kennett; two step-sons, Michael and Jeffrey Stone, both of Kennett; one daughter, Demetra Hopper, of Kennett; one brother, Don Hopper, of Kennett; two sisters, Frieda Wiseman and Auga Conder, both of Kennett and 13 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 21, at McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Charles Avants officiating.

Pallbearers were Sam Milburn, Jimmy Ingram, Darrell Roberts, Jason Avants, Marl Burton and Derek Burkhalter.

Burial was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.

Lucille Jones

Lucille "Shorty" Jones, 87, died Saturday, April 20, 2002, at the Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Born March 20, 1915, in Senath, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Albert and Lilly Johnson Stoker.

On March 20, 1937, in Cardwell, she married Paul Jones, who preceded her in death on Oct. 28, 1999.

Survivors include one son, Tomy Lynn Jones and wife, Sheilah, of Senath; one grandson, Chad Jones, of Senath and two sisters, Oneida Houston, of Senath and Lawanda "Dolly" Jackson, of Kennett.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, A.P. and Bobby Stoker and two sisters, Wathena French and Nell Whitehead.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 22, 2002, at the First Baptist Church in Senath with the Revs. Doug Clinton and Derek Combs officiating. Burial was in the Senath Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Eddie and Billy Gallagher, John and Vernon Stoker, Bill and David French, Kyle Marshall, Mardon Layne and Tony Shultz.

Edith Miller

Edith Lucy Miller, 76, of Kennett, died Saturday, April 20, 2002, at the Heritage Nursing Center in Kennett.

Born May 2, 1925, in Kennett, she was the daughter of the late John and Vassie Green Beeman.

On Aug. 25, 1945, she married Leonard Miller, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include two sons, John L. Miller, of Benton, Ark. and Thomas W. Miller, of Kennett; one brother, Bobby Beeman, of St. Louis; one half-brother, Jim McClain, of Kennett; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 21, at McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Bud Evans officiating.

Burial was in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.

Pallbearers were Ervin Byrd, Jeff Smith, James Pittman, Mike Dooley, Jim Byrd and Alvin Miller.

Eula Parker

Eula L. Parker, 83, of Marston, formerly of Niles, Mich., died Tuesday, April 23, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.

Funeral services are incomplete with the Bradshaw Funeral Home of Gideon.

James Polen

James H. Polen, 73, of Malden, Mo., died Saturday, April 20, 2002, at Memphis, Tenn.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Malden. Melvin Sherrill

Melvin Sherrill, 82, of Cardwell, Mo., died Tuesday, April 23, 2002, at the Senath Nursing Center in Senath.
