Leslie David "Sonny" Barnett, 66, of Clarkton, Mo., died Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at Three Rivers HealthCare North in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Born Aug. 30, 1935, in Bradford, Ark., son of Nellie Mae Wells Barnett, of Campbell, Mo. and the late Everett Leslie Barnett, he was of the Pentecostal faith.
On Oct. 7. 1967, in St. Louis, Mo., he married Barbara Ann Jordan, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include five sons, Mark Morris, of Campbell, John Barnett, of Kennett, David Barnett, of Marmaduke, Ark. amd James and Larry Barnett, both of Qulin, Mo.; four daughters, Nellie and Lezley Barnett, both of Clarkton, Norma Knighten, of St. Claire, Mo. and Sandy Brown, of St. Louis; two brothers, Edd Barnett, of Campbell and Ray Barnett, of Parker, Ariz.; five sisters, Joann Rodery, of Bernie, Mo., Eve Kraasch, of Cedar Hill, Mo., Lois Wink, of Florissant, Mo., Bernice Kabak, of Melville, Mo. and Faye Ochman, of Texas; 21 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, July 19, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Gideon, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 19, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Phillip Bartholomew officiating.
Burial will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Campbell.
Annie Lee Garrett, 87, of Portageville, Mo., died Wednesday, July 17, 2002, at the Portageville Nursing Center in Portageville.
Born June 29, 1915, daughter of the late John Arthur and Martha Jane Smith Weed, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Portageville.
On Oct. 12, 1931, she married Thomas Arvin Garrett, who preceded her in death on Dec. 16, 1980. She was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Arvin Thomas Barnett and David Michael Gilmer; one brother, Jake Weed and three sisters, Olean Weed and Ruby and Louise Mercer.
Survivors include one son, Arvin Jimmy Garrett, of Jefferson City, Mo.; three daughters, Ella Mae Gilmer, of Jonesboro, Ark., Betty Barnett, of Portageville, Mo. and Martha Mercer, of Ashland, Miss.; two brothers, George B. Weed, of Hayti, Mo. and Willie Weed, of Portageville; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Thursday, July 18, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Gideon, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 19, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mark Inman officiating.
Burial will follow at the Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton, Mo. Bill Pierce
William Dean "Bill" Pierce, 42, of Rome, Ga, formerly of Kennett, died Monday, July 15, 2002.
Born March 5, 1960, in Parsons, Kan., son of Wanna June Cotton Pierce, of Oklahoma City, Okla. and the late Jospeh Charles Pierce, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard, owner and operator of Pierce Refrigeration, Heating and Air in Kennett and a member of the Christ Gospel Church in Rome.
On Feb. 2, 1984, he married Rebecca Wheeler, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one daughter, Latisha Pierce, of Rome; five sisters, Rebecca Pierce, Connie Jones, Joyce Ruth, Eva Ellington and Jane Pelts, all of Oklahoma City and four brothers, Danny and Frank Brown and Joe Pierce, all of Oklahoma City and Ronnie Pierce, of Springfield, Mo.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Georgetta Brown.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, July 18, at the Henderson and Sons Funeral Home in Rome.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, July 19, at the Christ Gospel Church in Rome with the Revs. Rocky Calvert and Joe Williams officiating.
Burial will follow in Rome Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Jeremiah Veillon, James Pendleton, Derral Kent, Joe Pierce, Jacob Calvert and Raul Santa Maria.
Honorary pallbearers will be Vernon Davidson and Gene Hunt.
Angela Darlene Myers Thompson, 39, of Clarkton, Mo., died Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at Three Rivers HealthCare North in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Born Jan. 6, 1963, in Belle Glade, Fla., daughter of Arthur Elkins, of Cooter, Mo. and the late Barbara Latta Elkins, she was of the Baptist faith.
On Dec. 1, 1995, in Clarkton, she married Matthew Thompson, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include two daughters, Amanda Myers and Heather Thompson, both of Clarkton; three sons, Ricky and Joey Myers, both of Clarkton and Charles Thompson, of Clarkton; four sisters, Regina Westmorlan, Virginia Beach, Va., Diane Holcert, of Raceland, La., Pam Jestus, of Kennett and Melinda Miller, of Beebee, Ark. and two brothers, Bobby Elkins, of Athens, Ga. and Brian Elkins, of Beebee, Ark.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Thursday, July 18, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 19, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Allen officiating.
Burial will follow at the Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton.
Don Waggoner, 77, of Kennett, died Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at Paducah, Ky.
