Udie Thresher McLeskey, 91, of Campbell, Mo., formerly of Malden, Mo., died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell.
Born Nov. 25, 1910, in Shirley, Ark., daughter of the late Jesse E. and Bessie Clark Gadberry, she owned and operated Thresher's Grocery in Risco and was a member of the Church of Christ in Malden.
On Nov. 4, 1933, in Marion, Ark., she married James Walter Thresher, who preceded her in death in March of 1965. In Feb. of 1972, in Piggott, Ark., she married Prentiss McLeskey, who preceded her in death in Nov. of 1978. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Evelyn Thresher; one sister, Hallie Edge and two brothers, Emmett and King Gadberry.
Survivors include two daughters, Helen Hurst and husband, Harvey, of New Bern, N.C. and Margie McElyea and husband, David, of Memphis, Tenn.; one sister, Margie Siracusa and husband, Frank, of Collierville, Tenn.; a foster daughter, Darlene Ridings, of Taneyville, Mo.; four grandchildren, Skia Lawrence, of Lowell, Mass., Walter Hurst, of New Bern and James and Adam McElyea, both of Memphis; two great-grandchildren, Guin Moyle, of Lowell and Richard Hurst, of New Bern; 10 step-children and 41 nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Wednesday, Aug. 14, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with David McElwain officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden.
Jeffrey Tucker, 38, of Fort Walton, Fla., formerly of Senath, Mo., died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002, at Fort Walton.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Wednesday, Aug. 14, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Senath.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at the First Baptist Church in Senath.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.
