Irene S. Howard, 100, of Holcomb, Mo., died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell, Mo.
Born Sept. 2, 1902, in Princeton, Ky., daughter of the late Preston and Elizabeth Clark Steele, she was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Holcomb.
She married Carl Calvin Howard, who preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 1957. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Ernestine Howard; one grandson, Ernie Woodall; one brother and several sisters.
Survivors include one daughter, Wanda Lee Woodall, of Clarkton, Mo.; one son, Carl Howard and wife, Lucille, of Holcomb; four grandchildren, Linda Kay Rosamond, of Whittier, N.C., Karen Rose Howard, of Holcomb, Billy H. Woodall, of Wardell, Mo. and Wanda C. Clarkston, of Florissant, Mo.; three great-grandchildren, Renee Clarkston, of Florissant, Ernie Woodall, Jr., of Clarkton and Billy Woodall, Jr., of Wardell; six great-great-grandchildren, Austin, Trevor and Parker Woodall, all of Clarkton and Chris, Andy and Samantha Woodall, all of Wardell and one sister, Kewpie Remow, of Little Rock, Ark.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 5, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Campbell with the Rev. Jack Allen officiating.
Burial was in the Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton.
Bobby Lynn Hughes, 59, of Charleston, Mo., died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.
Born July 29, 1943, in Gideon, Mo., son of Mary Louise Powers Taylor, of Gideon and the late William Herschel Hughes, he was owner and operator of Bertrand Service Station amd Convenience Store , worked in construction and was a member of the Lynn Oak Baptist Church in Clarkton, Mo.
On June 9, 1962, he married Shirley Berry, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one daughter, Tammy Hughes, of Charleston; one brother, Wayne Hughes, of D'Iberville, Miss.; six sisters, Shirley Lance, of Marshfield, Phyllis Hughes, of Pass Christian, Miss., Peggy Timms, of Kennett, Sandy Pickard, of Gulfport, Miss., Judy Anderson, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. and Debbie Scott, of Gideon; one step-brother, Dale Taylor, of Swartz Creek, Mich.; two step-sisters, Joann Tuggle, of Portland, Ariz. and Mary Lou Moylan, of Clarkton and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by twin sisters.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 5, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, at the McMikle Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Pipkins officiating.
Burial will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Randy Tuggle, Brian Earnheart, Michael and Dean Stevens, Vernon Scott and Michael Hurtman.
Shirley Jean Davis Mitchell, 56, of Kennett, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2002, at Dyersburg Methodist Health Care in Dyersburg, Tenn.
Born July 20, 1946, in Brookland, Ark., daughter of Melba Seats Hazelwood, of Paragould, Ark. and the late Earnest L. Davis, she attended the Elm Grove Baptist Church in Kennett.
Survivors also include two daughters, Karen S. Ibarra, of Anaheim, Calif. and Anna M. Shown, of Kennett; one brother, Thomas E. Davis, of Harrison, Ark.; two sisters, Mary L. Enriques, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla. and Barbara A.Hays, of Paragould; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her step-father, Gerald E. Hazelwood and two brothers, Earnest Lee and Jerry Wayne Davis.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 5, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Charles James officiating.
Burial was in the Pine Log Cemetery at Brookland.
Pallbearers were John Fox, David D. Davis, Scotty Blue, Mike Sherfield, Gary Martin and Van Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers were Cecile Bradley and Beverly Hill.
Arthur S. Muse, 44, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., formerly of Wardell, Mo., died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002, at Heartland Care & Rehab. in Cape Girardeau.

Maxine Stone, 73, of Senath, Mo., died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Patrick William Tyler, 32, of Jacksonville, Ark., died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002, in Jacksonville.
He was the son of James and Betty Tyler, of Jacksonville.
Survivors also include one brother, Mike Tyler, of Jacksonville; two sisters, Linda Hallsell, of Memphis, Tenn. and Janet Walters and husband, John, of Jonesboro, Ark. one aunt, Mary Kitchens, of Senath and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, at the Moore's Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville.
