William Hughes

William L. Michael Hughes, 79, of Newell, Ala., died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, at his residence.

Born July 24, 1923, in Grassy, Mo., son of the late William Leonard and Reka Myers Hughes, he was a U.S. veteran serving in WWII.

Survivors include two daughters, Jerry Stroud, of Newell and Louise Tucker, of Lilburn, Ga.; one son, Mike B. Hughes, of Tampa, Fla.; one sister, Jerry Edwards, of Florence Ala.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Hughes.

Visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Benefield Funeral Home in Wedowee, Ala.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, at the Benefield Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Glenn Ward officiating.

Burial will follow at the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett.

Arthur Muse, Jr.

Arthur Senator Muse, Jr., 45, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., formerly of Wardell, Mo., died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002, at Heartland Care and Rehab. in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Born Sept. 4, 1957, in Portageville, Mo., son of the late Arthur Senator and Dorothy Estel Lumley Muse, Sr., he was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include one brother, D. Wayne Muse and wife, Ruth, of Poplar Bluff; three nieces, Karla Gunning, of Hinesville, Ga., Cammie Muse, of Memphis, Tenn. and Hailey Muse, of Poplar Bluff and one great niece, Savannah Muse, of Poplar Bluff.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden, Mo.

No services are planned.

Maxine Stone

Maxine Stone, 73, of Senath, Mo., died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Friday, Sept. 6, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Senath.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Assembly of God Church in Senath with the Revs. Virgil Weaks and Wayland Tom officiating.

Burial will follow at the Senath Cemetery.

Ronny Wilborn

Ronny Wilborn, 58, of Arbyrd, Mo., died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the Mitchell Funeral Home of Paragould, Ark.
