Patricia Davis

Patricia Ann Davis, 55, of Kennett, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at the Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould, Ark.

Born Jan. 25, 1947, in Rector, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Zelbert Sherfield and Evelyn Pauline Johnson.

On May 10, 1968, she married Earnest L. Davis, who preceded her in death on March 22, 1997. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Lester "Sonny" Sherfield and one niece, Teresa Blansett.

Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Blue and husband, Scotty and Leslie Davis, all of Kennett; one sister, Donna Poole, of Kennett and two grandchildren, Aaron Davis and Brandon Blue.

Graveside services were held at 3:30 p.m. today, Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.

Pallbearers were Ron Wilson, Gary Bradshaw, J.C. Counts, Ernie Holmes, Norman Meredith and Charlie Skaggs.

McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett was in charge of arrangements.

E.R. Gibbons

E.R. "Tommy" Gibbons, 93, of Leachville, Ark., formerly of Holcomb, Mo., died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at Belle Glade, Fla.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett.

Jana Gossett

Jana Laurine Gossett, 93, of Kennett, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Kennett.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett.

Jimmy Grills, Sr.

Jimmy Dale Grills, Sr., 52, of Bragg City, Mo., died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at his residence.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.

Burial will follow at the Browns Chapel Cemetery in Broseley, Mo.

Ruby Hart

Ruby Beatrice Hart, 77, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, at Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems in Hayti, Mo.

Born Aug. 29, 1925, in Steele, Mo., daughter of the late Charles "Spike" and Lillie Shirley Harker, she was a beautician and a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Caruthersville.

On Sept. 26, 1942, in Hayti, she married James Edward Hart, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include two sons, Jerry E. Hart, of Moses Lake, Wash. and Gary Gale Hart, of High Ridge, Mo.; four grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Randy and one sister, Sue.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, at the Temple Baptist Church in Caruthersville with the Rev. Jim Watkins officiating.

Burial was in the Maple Cemetery at Caruthersville.

Pallbearers were Gary, Jerry and Korey Hart, Kevin and Kerry Britton and Steve Simms.

H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of arrangements.

Jerry Hefner

Jerry L. Hefner, 62, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Monday, Dec. 2, 2002, at Three Rivers Healthcare-North Campus in Poplar Bluff.

Born Feb. 7, 1940, in Qulin, Mo., son of Dallas Hefner, of Qulin and the late Angelee Osborn Hefner, he was a retired salesman and a booster member and active supporter of the Three Rivers Raiders.

On June 6, 1959, in St. Louis, Mo., he married Frances Jane Whitehead, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include one daughter, Angela Lazalier and husband, Daron, of Poplar Bluff; one son, David Hefner and wife, Darla, of Paris, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Jessica and Jordan Hefner and Ashlee and Wyatt Lazalier, all of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Freda Bruemmer, of Florissant, Mo. and Margie Austin, of St. Louis and one brother, Landon Hefner, of O'Fallon, Mo.

He was preceded in death by one grandson, Jarrod Hefner.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell, Mo.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Junior Vester officiating.

Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Poplar Bluff. Dalie Mayberry

Dalie Johnson Mayberry, 92, of Kennett, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at the Heritage Nursing Home in Kennett.

Born Nov. 5, 1910, in Ozark County, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Jack Hicks and Rosa Hathcock.

She married James Everett Cunningham, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Norma Bailey and Freda Blue; two brothers, Willie and Lester Hicks; one sister, Vacie Hicks and two grandchildren.

Survivors include one son, Vaughan Cunningham, of Fordland, Mo.; two daughters, Rosa Tice Brown, of Sarasota, Fla. and Sue Sawyer, of Ellington, Mo.; two sisters, Lucinda Maxwell, of Tennessee and Doris Wommack, of Aurora, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Revs. Don Emery and J.C. Joyner officiating.

Burial was in the Spring Creek Cemetery at Ava, Mo.

Pallbearers were Randy Masterson, Virgil Blansett, Richard Nelson, Jim Percifull, Kelly Presson and James Blue, III.

George Nicklson

George "Bud" Nicklson, 70, of Senath, Mo., died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Born Oct. 3, 1932, in Hollywood, Mo., he was the son of the late Tom and Lottie Karnes Nicklson.

Survivors include two sisters, Lorene Coleman and Irene Hufford, both of Senath.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, J.W. "Pete", Tommy, Alford and Franklin Nicklson and four sisters, Parthena and Marie Nicklson, Rosa Maness and Mayrene Briscoe.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Senath with the Rev. Denny Brown officiating.

Burial was in the Lulu Cemetery at Senath.

Bernie Smith

Bernie Ray Smith, 57, of Herculaneum, Mo., formerly of Clarkton, Mo., died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden, Mo.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Allen officiating.

Burial will follow at the Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton.

Eurall Stover

Eural L. "Jack" Stover, 83, of Hayti, Mo., died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at his residence.

Born Feb. 2, 1919, in Ridgley, Tenn., son of the late Willie L. and Roxie Carter Stover, he was a U.S. Army veteran and employed at M.F.A. Grain Terminal.

On Jan. 3, 1951, in Piggott, Ark., he married Mary Annie Austin, who preceded him in death on Dec. 6, 2000. He was also preceded in death by a half-sister, Louise Orton.

Survivors include three nieces, Peggy Wilson, of Hayti, Barbara Toton, of Portageville, Mo. and Hettie Brockett, of Cape Girardeau, Mo. and three nephews, Coy Wilson, of Hayti and Edward and Bill Constant, both of Kirkwood, Mo.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Griff Walker officiating. Burial was in the Little Prairie Cemetery at Caruthersville.

Pallbearers were Bryan Constant, Roger Tarver, Keith Wilson, Verenon Williams and Jerry Broderick.
