Charles David Berry, 50, of West Memphis, Ark., formerly of Kennett, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2002, at his residence.
Son of the late Chuck and Helen Berry, he was a U.S. Army veteran, construction worker and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include one daughter, Melanie Dawn Wagster, of South Padre Island, Texas; three brothers, Jim, John and Dac Berry, all of Jonesboro, Ark.; one sister, Laura Beth Collins, of Jonesboro and one granddaughter, Kelsey Alyse Wagster, of South Padre Island.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Yhursday, Oct. 17, at the Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at the Emerson Memorial Chapel with the Rev. David Finley officiating.
Burial will be private.
Harley Vails, Sr.
Harley E. Vails, Sr., 87, of Dexter, Mo., died today, Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, at Cypress Point Health Care in Dexter.
Born May 7, 1915, in Holcomb, Mo., son of the late William E. and Virgie A. Mounce Bails, he was a farmer and attended the Vinson General Baptist Church in Essex. Mo.
On Feb. 24, 1940, in Catron, Mo., he married Anna Laura Cox, who survives.
Survivors also include three sons, Darrell Vails, of Jackson, Tenn., Junior Vails, of Dexter and Michael Vails, of Essex; five daughters, Peggy Rehkop, of St. Charles, Mo., Shirley Blair, of Columbia, Mo., B.J. Vails, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Kimberly Neppl, of Naperville, Ill. and Sheila Vails, of Dexter; four brothers, George Vails, of Puxico, Mo., Charles Vails, of Dexter, Frank Vails, of Campbell, Mo. and Roy Vails, of Ocala, Fla.; five sisters, Armada Valentine and Gerline Gregory, both of Dexter, Ulah Owens, of Bernie, Mo., Lola Thomas, of Stuarts Draft, Va. and Nadine Donalson, of Rockford, Ill.; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Maxine Lester and Joyce Arnold.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at the Wakins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doyle Corlew officiating.
Burial will follow at the Dexter Cemetery.
