Larry Christy

Larry Wayne Christy, 48, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at Memphis, Tenn.

Born May 11, 1954, in Hayti, Mo., son of Ann Christy Haymaker and the late Kenneth Christy, he was a self-employed carpenter and contractor.

Survivors include his mother and step-father, Ann Christy and Al Haymaker, of Bartlesville, Okla.; three daughters, Nichole McEuen and husband, Tim, of Bryant, Ark., Brittney Christy, of Atlantic City, N.J. and Stephanie Christy, of Dyersburg, Tenn.; one brother, Mike Christy, of Hot Springs, Ark.; one sister, Tammy Christy, of Adairsville, Ga.; one step-son, Christian Downing, of Hayti; three grandchildren, Kalyn, Christopher and Kylan and a special friend, Carla Downing, of Caruthersville.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with the Rev. Mary Nelle McCulloch officiating.

Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti.

Pallbearers were Cleo Brown, Albert Graham, Jackie Overbey, Dewayne Shelly, Vincent Shepard and Tracy Wilkerson.

Amos Santie

Amos Santie, 84, of Malden, Mo., died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at his residence.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at the Church of Christ in Malden.

Burial will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden.

Dessie Spicer

Dessie Spicer, 99, of Kennett, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at the Heritage Nursing Center in Kennett.

Born Sept. 12, 1903, in Hornersville, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Walter and Ada McClain Neal.

She married Clyde Spicer, who preceded her in death on March 19, 1987. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Levi Neal and one sister, Pauline Horton.

Survivors include one son, Gene Lemonds and wife, Olene, of Kennett; two grandchildren, Jim Lemonds and wife, Mary Ann, of Webster Grove, Mo. and Mary Ann Cowart and husband, Randy, of Fort Mills, S.C.; one nephew, Darius Horton, of St. Louis, Mo.; six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, Jan. 22, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Gene Lancaster officiating.

Burial was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers were Roger Montgomery, Tom Kinsey, Glean Leach, Donald Parker, Jack Lemonds and Bob Sturgeon.

Honorary pallbearers were John Fisher, John Moyer, J.D. Faulkner, Jeff Wade, John McClain, Joe Rose and Gary Mayes.
