Raymond Eugene Burkhead, 66, of Mountain Home, Ark., died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, at Hohenwald, Tenn.
Born Aug. 6, 1936, in Atkins, Ark., son of the late Herbert and Audrey Cross Burkhead, he worked for Steel Industry and was a member of the Shriners.
Survivors include one daughter, Gail Canada, of Chicago, Ill.; one son, David Burkhead and wife, Cindy, of Chicago; one sister, Pat Reeves, of Nashville, Tenn.; three brothers, Kenneth and Bud Burkhead, both of Hohenwald and Lawrence Burkhead, of Tennessee; two granddaughters, Sarah and Heather Canada, both of Chicago and two grandsons, Jared Barrow and David Burkhead, both of Chicago.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, Feb. 11, at the Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home in Steele, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, at the Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Andrews, Sr. officiating.
Burial will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele.
Tommie Carl Crawford, 66, of St. Louis, Mo., formerly of Hayti, Mo., died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, in St. Louis.
Born Aug. 12, 1936, in Hayti, he was the son of the late Carl Mark and Lela Francis Morrow Crawford.
Survivors include three sons, John and Joseph Crawford, both of Houston, Texas and Jimmy Crawford, of California; one daughter, Stacy Crawford, of Birmingham, Ala.; two brothers, Rodney Crawford, of St. Louis and Dewey Crawford, of Arnold, Mo.; two sisters, Linda Melton, of St. Louis and Ruth Shockley, of Millington, Tenn. and numerous grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Jack and Vernon Dale Crawford and one sister, Mary McLemore.
Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 7, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with Dr. Mike Melton officiating.
Burial was in the Woodland Cemetery.
Pallbearers were B.A. Cross, W.T. Davidson, John Wayne Mathenia, Gene Turnage, Don Crawford and John Shockley.
Adell Dorris, 82, of St. Peters, Mo., died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Born March 28, 1920, in Guinn, Ala., she was the daughter of the late Columbus Lee and Janie Cantrell Holcomb.
She married Charels Harvey Dorris, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Reavis and Henry Holcomb and one sister, Pleura Cantrell.
Survivors include thee sons, Larry Dorris and wife, Linda, of South Beloit, Ill., Billy Dorris and wife, Peggy, of St. Charles, Mo. and Bobby Dorris and wife, Judy, of Beloit, Wis.; one daughter, Janie Roofe and husband, James, of St. Peters; one brother, Hubert Holcomb, of Kennett; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Slatton oficiating.
Burial was in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
Lillian L. Johnson, 78, of Malden, Mo., died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2003, at her residence.
Born June 30, 1924, in Deering, Mo., daughter of the late Corbin Ellis and Floice Nancy Cross Johnson, she was a bookkeeper for the Malden Press-Merit and a member of the Church of Christ in Malden.
Survivors include one sister, Charolette O'Neal, of Malden; two nephews, Ardin Tolleson, of Colorado and Steve Johnson, of Orlando, Fla. and two nieces, Nancy Tolleson Sells, of San Diego, Calif. and Mariel Johnson Shackleford, of Sarasota, Fla.
She was preceded in death by one brother, W.M. "Bill" Johnson and one sister, Almyra Tolleson.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.

Jimmy Doyle McCormick, 57, of Hayti, Mo., died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Born Aug. 4, 1945, in Portageville, Mo., son of Georgia and William McCormick, of Hayti, he was a farmer.
On March 12, 1998, he married Vickie Swan Ricketts, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one daughter, Misty McCormick Chisum and husband, Jesse, of Chaffee, Mo.; two step-children, Stacy Stratton and husband, Rich, of Henderson, Ky. and Steve Ricketts and wife, Angie, of Stillwater, Okla.; two brothers, James McCormick, of Risco, Mo. and Tim McCormick, of Hayti; four sisters, Shirley Hamm, of Caruthersville, Mo.; Carolyn Taylor and Dorothy McCormick, both of Hayti and Betty Sue Hennecke, of Whitewater, Mo. and six grandchildren, Megan Chisum, of Chaffee, Jamie, Kortni and Kaelin Ricketts, all of Stillwater and Landon and Lynsey Stratton, of Henderson.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb.8, at the Church of Christ in Hayti with John Mark Wilson officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti.

Nola Louise Bettiegrue Morgan, 61, of Kennett, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at Three Rivers North in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Born Aug. 5, 1941, in Kennett, daughter of the late Haston and Carrie Bennett Jackson, she was a homemaker and a volunteer at the Heritage Nursing Home. She ws a member of the Coldwater Methodist Church in Senath, Mo.
She married William Bettiegrue, who preceded her in death on July 17, 1989. On July 8, 1991, in Kennett, she married Donald Morgan, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include three sons, David Bettiegrue, of Rogersville, Mo., Gary Morgan, of Doniphan, Mo. and Danny Bettigrue, of Paragould, Ark.; two daughters, Shirley Morgan, of Senath and Tina Fuller, of Marquand, Mo.; one brother, James Jackson, of Kennett; one sister, Imagene Jones, of Granite City, Ill.; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Oris Barnes.

Madge Eris Pylate, 79, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
Born Sept. 30, 1923, in Kosciusko, Miss., daughter of the late John Marvin and Lily Lorena Floyd Parker, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Caruthersville.
On Aug. 18, 1940, in Kosciusko, she married John W. Pylate, Jr., who preceded her in death on Sept. 15, 2000. She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Stacy Sims.
Survivors include three daughters, Lynn Stewart, of Meridian, Miss., Madge Winstead, of Bogart, Ga. and Gayle Gorham, of Jackson, Mo.; two sons, John W. "Buster" Pylate, III and Jerry Pylate, both of Caruthersville; nine grandchildren, Steve Stewart, of Meridian, Susan Thrash and Lloyd Winstead, both of Atlanta, Ga., Scott Stewrt, of Ocean Springs, Miss., Peyton Sims, of Starkville, Miss., Tara and Wes Pylate, both of Caruthersville, Brandon Pylate, of Columbia, Mo. and Paige Pylate, of Jackson and seven great-grandchildren.

Kay Frances Gurley Smith, 58, of Caruthersville, Mo. died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, at the Pemiscot Nursing Home in Hayti, Mo.
Born Sept. 26, 1944, in Kennett, daughter of Frances S. Johnson Gurley and the late Durward Lee Gurley, she worked at Brown Shoe Company and was a Deputy Circuit Court Clerk in the Child Support Division. She was a member of the Glass Memorial Baptist Church.
She was married to Robert Lee Smith, Jr.
Survivors include her mother, Frances Gurley, of Caruthersville; one son, Rick Smith, of Memphis, Tenn.; two daughters, Denise Kay Smith, of Caruthersville and Sandra G. Smith Bracy, of Deland, Fla.; two brothers, Joseph "Joe" Gurley, of Memphis and Steve Gurley, of Woodbridge, Va. and one grandson, Dylan Storm Smith Bracy, of Deland.
