J.B. "Dude" Bowling, 70, of Kennett, died Tuesday, March 4, 2003, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.
Born March 26, 1932, in Clinton, Ark., son of the late Clint and Lillie Eades Bowling, he was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
On Jan. 5, 1952, in Piggott, Ark., he married Jewell Louise Lebo, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include three sons, Larry Bowling and wife, Kelly and Jackey Bowling, all of Kennett and Joel Bowling, of Rockford, Ill.; one brother, Douglas Bowling, of Bragg City, Mo. and two sisters, Mary L. Bowling and Verble Duncan, both of Kennett.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, James, Oscar, Junior and Martin Bowling and four infant sisters.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Friday, March 7, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 8, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.
Burial will follow at the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett.
Honorary pallbearers are all nieces and nephews.
John Dowdy, 53, of Senath, Mo., died Thursday, March 6, at the Senath Nursing Center.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, March 9, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Senath.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 10, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at the Senath Cemetery.
Joan Godsey Fortner, 80, of Dallas, Texas, formerly of Clarkton, Mo., died Sunday, March 2, 2003, at her residence.
Born Feb. 15, 1923, in Clarkton, daughter of the late Shelby Clem and Agnes James Godsey, she was an artist.
On Dec. 25, 1952, in Clarkton, she married Wally Fortner, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one daughter, Emily Hickman and husband, John, of Seattle, Wash.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Buddy Godsey and one sister, Emily Godsey.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today, Friday, March 7, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Malden with the Rev. Bob Phillips officiating.
Burial was in the Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton.
Captola E. Lambert, 77, of Cardwell, Mo., died Tuesday, March 4, 2003, at her residence.
Born Aug. 3, 1925, in Paragould, Ark., daughter of the late Lindsey and Minnie Sanders Lester, she was a member of the Forrest Grove Baptist Church in Cardwell.
On Jan. 2, 1949, in Leachville, Ark., she married Billy Wayne Lambert, Sr., who preceded her in death on April 20, 1990. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, C.S. Jr., Buddy and Leon Lester and two sisters, Dessie Vaughn and Bonnie Ransom.
Survivors include one son, Billy Wayne Lambert, Jr. and wife, Cindy, of Jonesboro, Ark.; two step-grandchildren, April and Malcom Hunter and one sister, Bessie Tracer, of Rector, Ark.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today, Friday, March 7, at the Forrest Grove Baptist Church in Cardwell with the Rev. Kenneth Hargrove officiating.
Burial was in the Cardwell Cemetery.
