Nell Grogan, 92, of Kennett, died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at Three Rivers Regional Medical Center-North in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Born Sept. 28, 1910, in Kennett, daughter of the late Charlie and Beatrice Horton Green, she was a member of the Slicer Street Church of Christ in Kennett, where she was actively involved in the Dorcus Ladies.
On May 3, 1928, she married Haynes Grogan, who preceded her in death on Nov. 24, 1983. She was also preceded in death by one son, Jimmy C. Grogan; one daughter, Barbara Sue Grogan; one daughter-in-law, Jerre Nell Grogan; one brother, Charles "Slick" Green and two sisters, Gertrude Huskey and Vivian Adams.
Survivors include one son, Bill Grogan and his fiance', Pat Bowers, of Paragould, Ark.; one daughter, Linda Biggs and husband, Bill, of Kennett; one daughter-in-law, Rosalind Grogan, of Kennett; four sisters, Ruth Hines and Carroll Folkes and husband, Chester, all of Kennett, Nadine Reeves and husband, Raymond, of Stafford, Texas and Jean Reidy and husband, Ed, of St. Louis, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Chuck Grogan and wife, Nancy, of Oxford, Miss., Leigh Anne Brown and husband, Tim, of Poplar Bluff, Bill Grogan, Jr. and wife, Sharon and Jason Grogan and wife, Lori, all of Paragould, Darrin Grogan and wife, Nanci, of Jonesboro, Ark. and Lisa Clark and husband, Joey and Randy Biggs and wife, Dawn, all of Kennett; 14 great-grandchildren, Corbin and Cameron Clark and Logan, McKenzie and William Biggs, all of Kennett, Kristin Shipman, of Holcomb, Mo., Robert and Lee Grogan, of Paragould, Hannah Grogan, of Jonesboro, Lauren Martin, of Poplar Bluff, Devin Grogan, of Memphis, Tenn. and Chase, Sydney and Abby Grogan, all of Oxford and one great-great-grandchild, Tyler Trigg, of Memphis.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Thursday, March 27, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 28, at the Slicer Street Church of Christ in Kennett with Johnny Hester and James Powell officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.
Pallbearers are Chuck, Darrin and Jason Grogan, Bill Grogan, Jr., Randy Biggs, Joey Clark and Tim Brown.
Honorary pallbearers are members of the Dorcus Group, Frank Farless, Larry McDowell, Frank Stewart, Jesse James, Robert Akers, Larry Wagner, Ronnie Morgan, Tony Cannon, Paul Bass, Scott Miskelley, Jim Stewart, Floyd Coffer, Jimmie Strother, Jeff Wade, Gerald Caraway, Jerry Hall, Ray Davis and Mike Harwill.
