Hermenia Cross, 75, of Holcomb, Mo., died Thursday, April 3, 2003, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
Born May 8, 1927, in Kennett, she was a daughter of the late Henry C. and Belva May Qualls Haggard.
On Dec. 24, 1943, she married Pete Cross, who survives of the home.
She is also survived by one daughter, Janet Vancil of Campbell, Mo.; one son-in-law, J.P. Vancil, of Campbell; one sister, Alberta Ewing of Heber Springs, Ark.; two grandchildren, Philip Vancil and wife, Lesley, and Daniel Vancil, all of Campbell; two great-grandchildren Clayton and Tracie Vancil and one step-great-grandchild Austin Hobbs. She was preceded in death by two brothers, L. and Harrison Haggard; and five sisters, Lorene Cannon, Margie Hall, Thelma Moore, Ima George and Juanita Lisenbee.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Allen Massey officiating.
Burial was in the Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton.
Pallbearers were Bennie Cannon, H.E. George, Jeffrey Todd, Dennis Jackson, Bill Brigman and Ron Cross.
Ollie L. Hamlett, 88, of Kennett, died Friday, April 4, 2003, at Heritage Nursing Center in Kennett.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Sunday, April 6, at the McDanial Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, April 7, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett.
Mable L. Hatley, 88, of Hayti, Mo., died Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at Pemiscot Nursing Home in Hayti.
Born Jan. 20, 1915 in Braggadocio, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Maggie Jane Hinchey and Homer Alex Corbin, Sr., she was employed at the Brown Shoe Company in Caruthersville and was of the Baptist faith.
In 1932 in Caruthersville, Mo., she married Bruce Hatley, who preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by two brothers, Bill Corbin, of Lambert, Miss. and Charles Corbin of Parsons, Tenn along with a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 4, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville with the Rev. Kenny Lee officiating.
Burial was in the Maple Cemetery.
Gary Seagraves, 51, of Holcomb, Mo., died Saturday, April 5, 2003, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Arrangements are incomplete with McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett.
Patsy Lou Noah Young, of Fortuna, Calif., died Thursday, March 27, 2003.
Born in Hornersville she was the daughter of the late Archie and Genevieve Young.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Sue Ann Young.
She is survived by her four children, Steven Noah of Houston, Texas, Susan Mindus and husband, Jim, and Diane Cox and husband, Stephen, all of Eureka, Calif. and Lizette Hurst and husband, David, of Richmond, Va.; eight grandchildren, Jamie, Kristen, Greg, Gina, Stephen, Genevieve, Roshelle and Abigail; 11 great-grandchildren, Monique, Sara, Rylee, Noah, Morgan, Hunter, Felicity, Ariane, Megan, Garrett and Neveah.
