Willard Chailland, 80, of Senath, Mo., died Monday, May 19, 2003, at his residence.
Born Oct. 9, 1922, in Caruth, Mo., son of the late Louie and Oma Sitz Chailland, he was a U.S. Navy veteran.
On April 9, 1982, in Derby, Kan., he married Millie Chandler, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one son, Keith Chailland, of Kansas City, Mo.; two daughters, Deana Schmidt, of Lancaster, Kan. and Rose Goldsmith, of Lindon, Utah; one sister, Myrl Pelts, of Kennett; two grandchildren, Sean Schmidt and Christy Goldsmith and two great-grandchildren, Karen and Sean Schmidt.
He was preceded in death by one son, Lon Chailland; one brother, Lonzo Chailland and two sisters, Wilma Buck and Nadine Russell.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. today, Tuesday, May 20, at the Liberty Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Hargraves officiating.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Senath was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Liberty Cemetery in Caruth.
Crissie Elizabeth Jumper, 40, of Paragould, Ark., died Saturday, May 17, 2003, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.
Born Oct. 25, 1962, in Kennett, daughter of Faustina Adams McNeil, of Paragould and the late Russell Eugene McNeil, she was employed at Ameristeel, Inc. in Paragould and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She married Randy Jumper, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one son, James Jumper, of Walnut Ridge, Ark.; four daughters, Jennifer, Natalie and Nikki Beggs, all of Paragould and Jennifer Manning, of Walnut Ridge and two sisters, Jeanne Burnside, of Houston, Texas and Cathy Lambert, of Dexter, Mo.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, May 20, at the Heath Funeral Home in Paragould.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, at the First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Mike Morey and David Moseley officiating.
Burial will follow at the Linwood Cemetery in Paragould.
Dr. Guster R. Madle, D.C., 72, of Compton, Ark., formerly of Kennett, died Saturday, May 17, 2003, at Compton.
Born Jan. 28, 1931, in Plumlee, Ark., son of the late Rue and Nellie Sims Madle, he was a Chiropractor for 30 years in Kennett. He was a member of the Church of Christ and a Mason.
Survivors include his wife, Bettie L. Madle, of Compton; three sons, Redge Madle and wife, Mary, of Harrison, Ark., Dale Madle and wife, Karen, of Mt. Dora, Fla. and James P. Madle and wife, Darolyn, of Port Orange, Fla.; two granddaughers, Taylor and Emily Madle, both of Port Orange and two grandsons, Redge Madle, III, of Harrison and Parker Madle, of Port Orange.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, at the Christeson Funeral Home in Harrison with the Rev. Arthur L. Sims officiating.
Burial was in the Plumlee Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jimmy May, Marvin, David and Velton Sims and Curtis and Charles Clark.
Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Dunaway, Fred Snow and Ronnie Paul.
Eva Elizabeth Mitchell, 89, of Kennett, died Sunday, May 18, 2003, at Kennett.
Born July 23, 1913, in Rector, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Mose and Ora Catherine Johnson.
She married George Mitchell, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Bobby and Otho Mitchell.
Survivors include one son, George Mitchell, Jr., of Boyce, La.; five daughters, Frances Wilcoxson, of Rector, Annette Huckabay, of Lafe, Ark., Alberta Deshotel, of Wewahitchka, Fla. and Alice Blocker and Mary Wells, both of Kennett; 20 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, May 20, at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Bro. Futrell Butler officiating.
Burial was in the Purcell Cemetery near Rector.
Pallbearers were Larry and Gary Huckabay, Perry Deshotel, Kenneth McNabb and Darrin and Damon Mitchell.
Claudia Jewette Sneed, 50, of Bernie, Mo., missing since Monday, Sept. 2, 2002, was found near Puxico, Mo.
Born July 8, 1952, in Hornersville, Mo., she was the daughter of Betty Thomas Glasgow Snyder, of Doe Run, Mo. and the late Claudy Glasgow.
On Aug. 10, 1968, in Doniphan, Mo., she married James Dale Moody, who preceded her in death on May 22, 1987. She later married Jerry Ray Sneed, on March 15, 1995, in Paragould, Ark. He preceded her in death on Sept. 12, 2001. She was also preceded in death by one son, Richard Lynn Moody and one sister, Virginia Dougherty.
Survivors include two daughters, Claudia Henderson, of Malden, Mo. and Jene Sneed, of Advance, Mo.; one son, James Moody, of Bernie; four sisters, Mary Vance, of Canton, Ohio, Wilma Owens, of Doe Run, Patricia Grace, of Columbia, Mo. and Jo Ellen Henson, of Farmington, Mo. and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
