The Glennonville Picnic was held Saturday, July 31 on the grounds of the Knights of Columbus Hall. Over two hundred people were in attendance. Crowd favorites such as southern fried chicken, blood sausage, barbeque pork dinners, watermelon, and homemade desserts caused long lines. Several beauty pageants were held throughout the day along with a horseshoe tournament. The KLID a.m. radio station out of Poplar Bluff broadcast the event live. Special cash and quilt drawings were held. Despite the intense heat, the activities and food were enjoyed and a successful picnic was held.
