Kennett-East Prairie: Live updates and more...

9:31 p.m. Kennett rolls to the 80-37 victory. Parr finishes with 16 points to lead the Tribe, while Finley ends up with 10 and the trio of Greg Bowles, Dwight Usry and Kelvin Moore end up with eight each. Kennett takes on NMCC Thursday in the late semifinal.


9:19 p.m. Kennett leads 63-28 going to the fourth quarter. The Tribe's junior varsity players are now in and New Madrid County Central awaits Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in semifinal play.


9:05 p.m. Kennett is in command 42-17 at halftime against East Prairie. The Tribe is shooting 60 percent (18-for-30) from the field, 6-for-6 from the foul line and had 13 assists compared to just four turnovers. Blake Parr is the top individual with 12 points and six rebounds, while Jarvis Finley has eight points.


8:52 p.m. The Tribe leads 34-7 with five minutes left before halftime as Parr scored the first eight of Kennett's points this period.


8:48 p.m. Kennett leads 24-2 after the first quarter. Six players have scored for the Tribe, led by Finley's six points.


8:39 p.m. East Prairie calls timeout with 4:19 left in the opening period after Finley scores his sixth point to make it 8-0.


8:34 p.m. Jarvis Finley starts the game with authority, taking the opening tip and slam-dunking it home six seconds into the game. Kennett leads 2-0 with 6:40 left in the first.


8:19 p.m. New Madrid has defeated Malden 73-31. Dontre Jenkins led the way with 21 points, while Josh Minner added 19 and Kony Ealy finished with 15. The Eagles face the winner of the Kennett-East Prairie game, which tops off in less than 12 minutes.


7:38 p.m. New Madrid holds a commanding 46-20 lead at halftime. Dontre Jenkins and Josh Minner each have 14 points to lead the Eagles, while Kony Ealy has 13. Dywhite Jackson leads Malden with six points.


7:25 p.m. New Madrid County Central has taken a 22-8 lead on Malden less than a minute into the second quarter. NMCC won District 1 last winter and advanced to the state quarterfinals before losing.


7:14 p.m. The Tribe will be without senior forward Cameron Conder for the fourth straight game. Conder suffered a knee injury prior to the Sikeston game on February 20 and may not be able to return this season.


6:56 p.m. Fifth-seeded Scott City has just defeated No. 4 Kelly 69-54. The victorious Rams will take on top-seeded and host Charleston in the Class 3, District 1 semifinals Thursday at 6 p.m. Charleston downed No. 8 Caruthersville 77-37 in the first game today.

No. 2 New Madrid County Central and seventh-seeded Malden are warming up now and nearing tipoff. The winner of their game takes on the winner of Kennett (11-9) and East Prairie (5-13) Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the other semifinal contest.
