Week 6 football picks

Posted Friday, October 5, 2007, at 2:51 PM

I apologize for being late this week with the picks, but it's better late than never when you're 24-1 on the season (just kidding with the bravado). So, without further ado, here's Buhler's picks for week 6.

Dexter at Charleston: Two of the area's better passers meet up tonight on the Bluejays' homecoming night in Dexter's Ben Mills and Charleston's Chase McClendon.
That said, the Bearcats should win this one. Dexter has looked strong when not playing powers like Poplar Bluff and Festus, and Charleston is no Bluff or Festus.
Buhler's pick: Dexter.

Mtn. View-Liberty at Hayti: Hayti has been rolling this season, rolling to a 5-0 start behind the area's most diverse rushing attack and now former Cape standout George Hamilton III is joining that attack. Liberty is 1-4 against tough competition, but its lone win was against Chaffee.
Still, the Indians should have more than enough to win Saturday...
Buhler's pick: Hayti.

Festus at Caruthersville: Festus is one of the best Class 4 teams in the state and routed Dexter 32-0 week 2 in a weather-shortened contest.
On the other side, Caruthersville still has yet to win a game this season -- or even play an opponent closer than 14 points.
Buhler's pick: Festus.

Poplar Bluff at Farmington: This might be the best game in southeast Missouri tonight as the Knights host the Mules in a potential Class 4 sectional preview. Bluff will be hard-pressed to stop the Knights' air attack, but Farmington will have trouble stopping the Mules' ground game.
I'm already looking forward to the rematch...Buhler's pick: Farmington.

And last but not least...

Malden at Kennett: Malden has struggled mightily on offense in 2007, scoring just one offensive touchdown aside from a 27-point outburst against Portageville.
On the other side, Kennett can end a streak of six straight losing seasons with a victory tonight.
Malden's defense isn't bad, but Kennett can throw the ball and run it. And can Malden outscore the Tribe? I doubt it...
Buhler's pick: Kennett.

And for my NFL picks on the Rams and Chiefs (the Titans are off this week), here goes...

Cardinals at Rams: Marc Bulger is benched after struggling through cracked ribs, Steven Jackson is still out and the Cardinals are coming off of a big win against Pittsburgh. Besides, they have Kurt Warner at quarterback...
Buhler's pick: Cardinals.

Jaguars at Chiefs: Kansas City got a huge win last week at San Diego, but can it turn around the season? The Jaguars are 2-1, with the lone loss against the Titans in the season opener.
The should be a good one...
Buhler's pick: Chiefs.

Falcons at Titans: The Falcons are coming off of an impressive win against Houston -- their first of the season -- and have thrown the ball well with Joey Harrington under center.
Meanwhile, Tennessee is coming off of a bye -- and a big win at New Orleans on Monday Night Football.
Buhler's pick: Titans.

Wow, I could not have said it better. With the exception of the Falcons & Titans. Im going to go out on a limb and pick Atlanta for the win.

Why? I dont know, I just have that feeling they will.

Man,,,,,,, If Falcons QB B. Leftwich would have throwed the ball away instead of taking the sack they might have had a chance to win. How big is that word "IF"...LOL

As for my Chiefs (2-3), I just hang my head! hahaha, all though I hold it high when I say that they are #2 in the AFC WEST! I lower it again when I say that the Raiders (2-2) are #1 with the bye week.

The Rams = 0-5 ouch!!!!!
