Larry Johnson a Titan?Posted Tuesday, July 24, 2007, at 2:43 PM
It has been a quiet offseason for the Tennessee Titans so far. Other than signing a pair of cornerbacks (Nick Harper and Kelly Herndon) to offset the loss of Pacman Jones and letting a handful of starters walk in free agency, it's been quiet in Nashville aside from the antics of the aforementioned Jones.
That might be about to change, however. Adam Schefter at NFL.com reported recently that the Kansas City Chiefs and running back Larry Johnson are approximately $14 million in guaranteed money apart in negotiations on a new contract. Johnson is scheduled to make just $1.9 million this season and will likely hold out if he does not get a new deal. Should that happen, the possibility that Kansas City will trade Johnson increases. Schefter stated that the New York Giants, Green Bay Packers and the Tennessee Titans -- all of whom lost 1,000-yard rushers in the offseason -- are logical destinations for LJ should a trade occur. Johnson would be a major boost to a Tennessee Titans offense that lost half of its starting skill players in the offseason. He would also take a ton of pressure off of defending Offensive Rookie of the Year Vince Young. While it is all speculation at the moment, it is an interesting thought to say the least. Check out what I said that came true today

[Kansas City.com] Running back Priest Holmes could be returning to play for the Chiefs.
Holmes, who hasn't played or practiced with the Chiefs in more than a year and a half, told president/general manager Carl Peterson he wanted to rejoin the Chiefs at training camp.
The Chiefs appear to be agreeable to the idea, so it's possible Holmes could be with the Chiefs on Thursday when they leave for training camp in River Falls, Wis.
Holmes suffered a neck injury during an October 2005 game against the Chargers in San Diego and hasn't played or practiced since.
Holmes will turn 34 in October, an advanced age for a running back. That, combined with his recent inactivity, could limit his abilities.
But with the possibility of a Larry Johnson holdout, Holmes' return could give the Chiefs some leverage and certainly more options at the position.
The things that the media say's, haha LJ will not be leaving KC, when kcchiefs.com say's it, Then I'll beleive it. And even if he did KC still has M. Bennett <--healthy, Kolby Smith a 5th rd pick. And who knows? Priest Holmes is still a chief!
