Observations -- Embarrassed...

I read this week where a columnist named Cheri Jacobus said this: "From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United States Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate. That's how many days the Senate was actually in session and working. After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander in Chief, Leader of the Free World, and fill the shoes of Abraham Lincoln, FDR, JFK, and Ronald Reagan, 143 days. I keep leftovers in my refrigerator longer than that."

I must say that she has a point, if in fact she said it. Whether she said it or not, the point is well taken.

Another columnist, a nationally renowned authority on the First Amendment and the Bill of Rights, Nat Hentoff, wrote, "During my more than 60 years of covering national politics, I have never seen a candidate's principles and character so effectively tarnished -- after so extraordinarily inspiring a start -- as Barack Obama's."

Hentoff concluded his column entitled, "Barack Obama: The flimflam candidate," by asserting, "I can no longer believe in this messenger…"

Obama recently walked across a stage imitating what appeared to be some preacher's delivery style saying he was embarrassed that more Americans cannot speak a foreign language.

Well Mr. Obama, I'm embarrassed that you appeared to present so much hope for so many people only to have now flip-flopped on almost every important position you once held, and also embarrassed that you appear to be so popular among people who apparently are not concerned with your flipping.

Like I've said before, WE KNOW NOTHING ABOUT HIM! Politics in this country have become something else.

Perhaps he's what this country needs right now. Think of it this way: Without Carter we never would have gotten a Reagan!

Speaking of preachers, I don't think Reverend Manning (who is Black) is a fan of Obama.

But on the other hand, he may be deep, like real deep.

Today Obama made his grand appearance in Germany, and hundreds of thousands of Germans in Berlin turned out to pay abject homage to him. I find nothing new in this, the German people seem to have a most peculiar and dark bent for total worship of charismatic leaders who make great speeches promising change, with no real idea as to what that said change might entail. (1939-45 long forgotten, or lesson never learned)

Once again, we are treated to scenes of enthralled German jugend with shinning eyes hypnotically fixed upon the object of their adoring reverence, I could not help but compare Obama's Berlin moment to Hitler's total control over the emotions of massive German crowds.

Hegel was right, "we learn from history, that we do not learn from history."

Obama should act like a canidate, not as a president. I thought he acted like he had already won the election while in germany. Then he pass' on visiting the troops for a workout at the hilton. Geeze what have we become?

-- Posted by BadBones on Mon, Jul 28, 2008, at 8:48 PM

I just dont get him. 143 days, what are we thinking.....surely most americans don't know this or they wouldn't....couldn't consider him a real presidential hopeful. so he wants change..... big deal, its the change that worries me. i will vote against him, i dont think we have good choices, but i would rather have a conservative in than someone with "no" experience and who just appears to be a smooth talker. clinton and reagan were smooth, but they also had the experience behind them. this guy scares me!!!!

-- Posted by cbhine on Mon, Jul 28, 2008, at 10:03 PM

The liberal socialists (AKA commies without total power and guns) say some will not vote for Obama because of prejudice. Count me in, I will not vote for him because of his color, he is "RED."

Everyone has made race a part of this campaign, YET he is iligning himself with the Africa American clan when actually that is not what he is. He is an Arab and therefore a Muslim and a very fine orator. Notice the news pictures and the crownds around him and you will find mostly those people in their mud tolate 20's as the primary group. The age of people, I am sorry to say, THE MAJORITY DO NOT KNOW A THING ABOUT WHAT IS GOING ON.

(INTERESTING DATA JUST RECEIVED ON TAXES & PROPOSED CHANGES IN TAXES AFTER 2008 GENERAL ELECTION.)

Time to consider your pocketbook:

CAPITAL GAINS TAX

MCCAIN:

0% on home sales up to $500,000 per home (couples). McCain does not propose any change in existing home sales income tax.

OBAMA:

28% on profit from ALL home sales

How does this affect you?

If you sell your home and make a profit, you will pay 28% of your gain on taxes. If you are heading toward retirement and would like to down-size your home or move into a retirement community, 28% of the money you make from your home will go to taxes. This proposal will adversely affect the elderly who are counting on the income from their homes as part of their retirement income.

DIVIDEND TAX

MCCAIN : 15% (no change)

OBAMA : 39.6%

How will this affect you?

If you have any money invested in stock market, IRA, mutual funds, college funds, life insurance, retirement accounts, or anything that pays or reinvests dividends, you will now be paying nearly 40% of the money earned on taxes if Obama becomes president. The experts predict that 'Higher tax rates on dividends and capital gains would crash the stock market, yet do absolutely nothing to cut the def icit.'

INCOME TAX (find your bracket)

MCCAIN (no changes)

Single making 30K - tax $4,500

Single making 50K - tax $12,500

Single making 75K - tax $18,750

Married making 60K- tax $9,000

Married making 75 K - tax $18,750

Married making 125K - tax $31,250

OBAMA (reverse all tax cuts)

Single making 30K - tax $8,400

Single making 50K - tax $14,000

Single making 75K - tax $23,250

Married making 60K - tax $16,800

Married making 75K - tax $21,000

Married making 125K - tax $38,750

Under Obama, your taxes will more than double!

How does this affect you? No explanation needed. This is pretty straight

Forward.

INHERITANCE TAX

MCCAIN 0% (No change, Bush repealed this tax)

OBAMA Restore the inheritance tax

How does this affect you?

Many families have lost businesses, farms, ranches, and homes that have been in their families for generations because they could not afford the inheritance tax. Those willing their assets to loved ones will only lose them to these taxes.

NEW TAXES BEING PROPOSED BY OBAMA

New government taxes proposed on homes that are more than 2400 square feet.

New gasoline taxes (as if gas weren't high enough already)

New taxes on natural resources consumption (heating gas, water, electricity)

New taxes on retirement accounts, and last but not least....

New taxes to pay for socialized medicine so we can receive the same level of medical care as other third-world countries!!!

THE FOREGOING IS SOMETHING YOU SHOULD BE AWARE OF. . IT SHOULD MAKE YOU THINK BEFORE YOU CAST YOUR VOTE IN NOVEMBER.

Please spread the word. This will catch a lot of families off guard.

You can verify the tax information at

"Western Oil Shale Potential: 800 Billion Barrels of Recoverable Oil" (as per US department of Interior)

And Obama said this morning there are no adequate domestic oil reserves to meet energy needs?

800 Billion Barrels of Recoverable Oil

Oil shale is a fine-grained sedimentary rock containing organic matter from which oil may be produced. The regulations would provide for a thoughtful, phased approach to oil shale development on public lands in the West.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Department of the Interior's Bureau of Land Management today published proposed regulations to establish a commercial oil shale program that could result in the addition of up to 800 billion barrels of recoverable oil from lands in the western United States.

In keeping with the Energy Policy Act of 2005 and the Mineral Leasing Act of 1920, the BLM is proposing regulations that would provide the critical "rules of the road" on which private investors will rely in determining whether to make future financial commitments to prospective oil shale projects.

"As Americans pay more than $4 for a gallon of gasoline and watch energy prices continue to climb higher and higher, we need to be doing more to develop our own energy here at home, through resources such as oil shale," said Secretary of the Interior Dirk Kempthorne. "Instead, I find it ironic that we are asking countries halfway around the world to produce more for us."

And, what is Obama's plan, he said this would fix our energy crises:

With the incessant self promotion of his rock star persona by Obama and the 24/7 fawning over him by the mainstream visual and printed media, perhaps they should take heed of the old adage, "familiarity breeds contempt." But possibly an even greater danger lies in the overexposure of his vacuous "analytical and thoughtful" empty suit personage, it also engenders indifference for many.

Obama is a nuanced empty suit, his half-brother in Kenya lives in a tiny shack, on $1 a month, while the cretin Messiah mouths platitudes from the bible.

Obama at Saddleback Forum: "I think moral failure in America's greatest my lifetime has been that we still don't abide by that basic precept in Matthew that whatever you do for the lest of my brothers, you do for me."

What was he thinking? I can see the "Obama bin Biden" tee shirts now, and I thought "$10.00 a gallon gasoline, vote for No Oilbama in 08" would have been a good one.

How about the "Biden is the one" 3 AM text message sent out by Obama today, a direct slap in the face to Hilariously and her PUMA moonbat followers? Stock up on pop corn and diet Pepsi for the upcoming convention catfight, this promises to be entertainment beyond Thunder Dome.

From "Heart of Darkness," to "Apocalypse Now", to the democrat national convention in Denver, "the horror, the horror". It seems only yesterday, the gleeful soupe de jour for democrats and the liberal media, was of the disunity within the GOP from selection of presidential nominee John McCain. Now to their horror and consternation, the democrats find themselves hoisted on their own Hillary/Obama petard.

Well, McCain has chosen Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska as his VP pick, and IMO it was a great one.

But another story going unreported, is the Pajama Media bloggers scooped the MSM by hours. Industrious bloggers were tracking Palin's travel and every move as of 08/27/08 until her plane landed in Ohio last tnight. This was in additon to her sudden meteoric rise going through the roof in just hours at "Intrade" (more than a few naysayers lost big money) and correctly predicted she was the one.

Note the time and date, it was at 11:30 pm on 08/28/08 when the Pajama Media broke the story and their reasoning, the MSM still did not have a clue this morning when they were blindsided.

A little word play upon Revelation 6:8

"And behold a Palin horse, and she that sat upon him, her name was Sarah and destruction followed her upon the Obama Biden host."

Alaska has been trying for 30 years to put together a pipeline deal through Canada to supply natural gas to the lower 48, and have blown it every time, but Governor Sarah Palin has got it done in short order. Read how hard nosed she was about jobs for Alaskans, the environment and use of in-state resources, think of the number of Americans this will put to work, the boon to our economy, a plentiful and stable supply of energy for the future. At an estimated cost of 30 billion dollars, it will be the largest construction project in U.S. history.

To the liberal elitists who decry she has never accomplished nothing and think she will be a easy push over in this election cycle, I beg to differ, methinks if they choose to ride this tigeress, they will find trying to dismount a very dangerous task indeed.

Article was written before her pic as VP:

"Energy: As congressional Democrats dither on a vote for oil drilling, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has pushed through a gas pipeline project to bring new supply and price relief to the lower 48."

Fresh into office as governor, Sarah Palin took on a company with a annual 291 billion dollars in revenue, and forced them to come to her terms. And that was just for starters, this gal is the "REAL DEAL."

http://www.americanprowler.com/dsp_artic...

"So how does the experience of Sarah Palin stack up against the experience of Joe Biden? Just ask British Petroleum

Would you trust Sarah Palin to negotiate with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad without preconditions?

Well, why not?

Palin came into the governor's office and found a mess on her desk. The oil deal struck by defeated Republican governor Frank Murkowski wasn't working. Through creative accounting by big oil and ambiguous reporting standards, the Murkowski plan just wasn't giving the State of Alaska the pay-off that was expected. So the former mayor of Wasilla (population 9,000, as the MSM always points out) demanded that the agreement be renegotiated and the terms be nailed down. They laughed when she sat down to negotiate, but in the end she had a new deal that delivered 50 percent of the oil revenues to the Alaska Permanent Fund, and enabled Palin to send a check for $1,200 to every qualified Alaskan citizen."

Snip: (then big oil quit laughing)

"So enter the PTA community organizer from Wasilla. Without preconditions she took on a company that has a market cap of $205 billion and annual revenues of $291 billion in worldwide operations. Its budget is larger than that those of most sovereign countries, yet she won on her terms. If she can outsmart BP, the company that started the Middle East conflict, she can easily outsmart Ahmadinejad, if need be.

Then to follow up that act, she got the Alaskan Legislature to approve development of the TransCanada gas pipeline, a $40 billion deal that will go 1,715 miles from the treatment plant at Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, to the Alberta hub in Canada, from which it will be transferred to the United States. This project had been sitting around for 30 years on hold because the big energy companies didn't think it would be profitable, and their corrupt cronies in the legislature obediently kept it on the shelf. Crusading against corruption and negotiating across the aisle, Palin not only got it passed in record time, but opened up the bidding when the U.S. companies were reluctant to jump in. So she went ahead and awarded the contract to low-bidder TransCanada Alaska, a firm that has already built 36,000 miles of pipelines in North America. As a final fillip, the Governor signed the bill at the Alaska AFL-CIO biennial convention. While Barack Obama's solution to the energy problem is to urge us to check the air in our tires, Palin's solution is to start building a $40 billion gas pipeline, without Federal government assistance."

I am not a religious person in any sense of the word, but I find it amazing the left assumes this church video is something they can use negatively against Sarah Palin. She was invited unprepared to her hometown church in Wasilla to speak to young people, and she dares unabashedly to invoke the name of GOD and the blessing of Jesus Christ, not once, but several times.

I found her refreshingly candid, humble and well, normal. I guess the left would have preferred the gyrating Reverend Wright streaking and screaming across the stage G_D damning America more in tune with their and Obama's style of religion.

What struck me, is the disconnect between those who will find this terrible, and those within the sphere of people I know and associate with. In my opinion, I hope they spread this far and wide, many, many, more will see the humanity of her unfiltered and uncensored, and it will be to her benefit.

In politics and williwaws, calm can be dangerous.

I remember when we lived in Alaska several decades ago, there was/is a destructive phenomena of nature that could suddenly appear out of nowhere on a calm placid day. Being a chechako (newcomer) I recall driving down the highways on the Kenai Peninsula and seeing certain mountainsides with all the trees smashed flat to the ground. In my ignorance, I assumed it was caused by snow slides. But why just those particular mountainsides and not even steeper ones in area? I once asked an old timer about it, he just smiled and said "williwaw." Williwaw, what the heck is a williwaw? I learned it is when a cold blast of wind suddenly comes screaming down from the snow and ice fields off the mountains, often destroying everything in it's path.

There are maritime warnings given to vessels cruising too close to the Alaskan shorelines and I once witnessed what great power a williwaw possesses. A foreign registered tall sailing ship had visited Seward and created quite a stir of interest. The vessel departed, and a few days later came news of a disaster, it had been placidly sailing just offshore when suddenly, a williwaw struck, knocking the ship over and it sank.

Well, what do williwaws and politics have in common? Onto a calm and orderly national political scene and it's unsuspecting victims, (AKA democrats) out of Alaska a williwaw has struck them like a force of nature, and her name is Sarah Palin.

To those who claim Obama is a good orator should listen to him speak when there are no teleprompters!! Uh...um..uh..well..uh..ya know..uh. Palin lost her feed on the teleprompters at the convention and nobody every knew it! That, people, is an orator!!

The Reverend Manning who is Black, says, "want to talk trash about Bristol Palin, bring it on." he sure exposes the hypocrisy of the media.

To those who are pro Obams and cannot handled the truth, simply put, this hard hitting Pastor is not for you.
