Observations -- Cleaning house?

So, the United States Congress wants to clean the house of Major League Baseball? Perhaps someone should tell them to start at their own house!

How much money is OUR government, i.e., OUR tax MONEY, spending on these silly "trials" or "hearings" about the use of performance enhancing drugs by Major League Baseball players?

How much time is OUR government wasting asking these silly questions from players who rather obviously have done something to enhance their physique and/or performance?

What difference does it make whether Roger Clemens or Barry Bonds used the drugs?

Those guys are adults, yes? Then the choices they make regarding their own bodies should be theirs to make.

If Major League Baseball is concerned about the image these players display, let Major League Baseball handle it.

OUR government should have enough to do without cleaning the house of baseball. Afterall, there is this simple thing called the "war on terror."

If that "war on terror," education, transportation, and our economy is not enough to keep those folks busy, why don't they work six months out of the year, cut their salaries by two-thirds, and get real jobs!

Like I said, didn't mean to sound stupid! Did not hear anything about him. Sorry for sounding so dumb although I still like him.

What about Romanowski? Are you serious? Dude, he is poster child for roid-rage. He shot up more than a junkie on the streets. Him and his famous "vitamin" collection showed off on ESPN. I might be wrong, but I believe that he has come clean about his HGH and stuff since he has retired.

The problem IMO is that they have let so many players get away with the "illegal" drug thing that I can't see how it is possible to get away with them being so bias now. look at all the players who have been caught using drugs and all they got was another, another, another and so on chance, then they hand pick ones they want to hang. They can do what they want, sports are not like they used to be anyway, it's all about $$$$$ now and the heck with the tradition and fans. By the way "oldtrougher" not to sound stupid but what about my buddy Bill Romanowski?

Oh, and the "silly" hearings are just made worse by the politicians. Lacy Clay of St. Louis actually asked Clemens what hat he would wear on his Hall of Fame induction day. Followed by Burton from Indiana just trashing McNamee. Talk about pot calling the kettle black. Burton, who had a child out of wedlock and was the single approving vote in the whole Congress concerning these guys keeping their "golf junket" weekends.... Give me a break. And the questioning of Clemens and McNamee along party lines!? Sickening.

Yep, I'm sure the Roger Goddell trashed any evidence against the Pats to save tax payer dollars. Or it could be that a team was on the verge of setting NFL records, and the fact that they had been Beli-cheating would sort of tarnish that record.

As for the HGH and steroids, they are illegal drugs. How can you even try to compare them to lifting weights and working out to better yourself. Heck, why not just skip practice altogether and just shoot up? There are certain vitamins at GNC that athletes cannot take because they are on the banned list by the NFL and MLB, see Bill Romanowski. I do not have a problem with those who get to be successful by hard work and discipline. I do have a problem with those that cheat to get there, just like Roger Clemens.

Is it not a suplement to make you have an advantage

Cheers To Jack, Well said my friend!

It's kind of like SpyGate. I believe the NFL commish trashed the Pats tapes to save taxpayers from redicules hearings like the one Jack is speaking of in baseball.

When was it that we lost the rights to our own bodies. I pay a carpenter to build my house, if its wrong he will fix it at his cost. If I go to the doctor and he does surgery on my arm I pay him, and its not done correctly I have to pay him again to fix it.

So if you cant take HGH or whatever to make you faster and stronger, why can you lift dumbells and take vitamins

Well, SenathDavid, we might actually agree on more than you think. Regardless, thanks for the comment. You ever thought about joining us as a blogger yourself?

Jack, I find myself in the unlikely position of completely agreeing with you on this issue!

I agree, there are much more important things going on in the world that they could be spending their time on!
