Observations - Voting, don't take it for granted

Two young people asked me who I was going to vote for in the presidential primary Tuesday. I had to tell them I did not know -- not that it was any of their business!

Here it is Monday, the day before the primary election, and I do not know who I will vote for.

Actually, the person I wanted to vote for has dropped out of the election!

Some are attempting to compare Barack Obama to John Kennedy, saying Obama has energized the electorate, as did Kennedy. I am not sure that comparison can be made at all.

I dislike being among the undecided. Being undecided seems so . . . so . . . well, so wishy-washy, and I do not like feeling wishy-washy. I guess it is a good thing that no one candidate grabs everyone's attention. A candidate too "strong" might do more harm than good.

There is no telling what a president who is too charismatic or too popular or too "strong" might actually do. I have been reading what some opponents of President Woodrow Wilson think about his administration and some of what he did is scary!

So, I think I'm thankful that there is no particularly strong candidate and that we have the form of government we do - legislative, executive, and judicial branches - with checks and balances built into our constitution.

I pray those checks and balances continue working; and, I guess when I walk into the booth on Tuesday, I'll decide who I'm going to vote for. I will certainly be a part of the process. Our privilege of voting should not be taken for granted.

If you need help...go with Huckabee!

You know Jack, I feel a lot like you, but for different reasons...I don't feel like there's a "clear cut" choice because of the rest of the government surrounding them...As I said in an earlier post, one person's not going to make the difference.

You could throw some of the best presidents the United States has ever seen in there right now and they would all be failures because of the people surrounding them...Our US Congress right now is the most non-productive group of people in the world (in my opinion)...Does anything get accomplished anymore? Or are we SO worried about personal agendas?

Until we get an overall group of individuals (like you had in the "good ole days) that are committed to making things right, you'll never see a positive change in the United States...You'll continue to see such things as Congress being SO concerned with Major League Baseball and Steroids...i.e. big business...

Agreed. If the president doesn't have any support from Congress, etc. nothing will get better.

I don't know who I'm voting for either, although I know who I'm most definitely not voting for! =)

Huckabee sounds good to me, doubt he'll win though.
