Observations -- Cremation and Curfews

Two thoughts occurred to me this week regarding cremation and curfews [I know that is an odd combination!]

Regarding cremation, does the desire of a person to be cremated reflect the hidden desire he has in life to escape?

Regarding curfews, Is the reason a city establishes and enforces a curfew the admission by the parents of that city that they have lost control of and discipline of their teenagers?

I am inclined to think the answer to both of those questions is, yes.

I think, perhaps, the reason a person wants to be cremated does reflect the hidden desire to escape. Obviously, it will not work! Once cremated, however, that person will never be "found" again.

Regarding curfews, parents, perhaps, have abrogated their own responsibility for managing their children's behavior to a city.

Your thoughts?

Regarding your comments on cremation- I have never thought about it before. Very interesting. Have to think about it. =)

As far as the curfew, I think it's a great idea. And necessary because there are so many parents out there who not only fail to instruct their children the difference between right and wrong, they are actually right in the thick of things leading them along.

A curfew would hopefully, if it's actually enforced, keep kids who have no moral compass off of the streets and make for a safer city!

Cost of cremation here this part of Arizona is $700.00. So, I have instructed the wife, pour my ashes into a Prince Albert can, and use a post hole digger to plant them.

Here on this earth, when you are dead, you are done, nuff said.

I recently asked a funeral home director the price difference between cremation and burial..the price is extremely close. So your reason of "price" is not an excuse anymore...

I feel that curfew is a good thing and it was implemeted from a lack of parenting skills.

My idea of cremation: I dont believe it is a person wanting to "escape" what are you going to escape from? I want to be cremated because I came from dust and I want to return as dust.

On the subject of cremation I feel the same way as "SenathDavid", the prices of funerals are getting out of hand and putting lots of added presure on loved ones. On the second point I agree with the fact that kids today seemed to have taken over their own rules and the parents just sit back and hope these kids make it till they leave the nest. The question I would like to ask is, who's fault is it, parents, teachers, kids, government or music and movies? I would like to see a pole asking the readers of this paper what they think may be the main problem with kids and their attitudes in this day and age.

Perhaps the reasons a person wants to be cremated are: 1. to save the family several thousand dollars in "funeral home" expense, or: 2. that person cannot bear the idea that his (or his loved one's) body will slowly decay and be eaten by worms in the ground.

It is a personal choice, and when the Lord does come, I feel like he will be just as capable of reassembling a cremated body as one turned to dust in the ground.
