Busy, busy, busy, bees... that's what we all seem to be the office/hive this week. I am sure that as the week rolls on, I will find something that sparks my interest enough to write about in this blog.

For now, I thought I would share something that another editor with our group forwarded me earlier today. Whether it is just for a laugh, or to make you think outside the box, I hope you enjoy it.

My friend/co-worker said the article came from The St. Petersburg FL Times' Business Section (not confirmed) which asked readers for ideas on how to fix the economy... I also researched and found a copy of this particular person's response on one of my favorite Web sites and pasted and copied it below. It's called, "The Fix."

Dear Mr. President,
Please find below my suggestion for fixing America's economy. Instead of giving billions of dollars to companies that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan. You can call it the "Patriotic Retirement Plan."

There are about 40 million people over 55 in the work force. Pay them $1 million a piece severance for early retirement with the following stipulations:

1) They MUST retire. Forty million job openings - Unemployment fixed.

2) They MUST buy a new American CAR. Forty million cars ordered - Auto Industry fixed.

3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage - Housing Crisis fixed.
It can't get any easier than that!!

P.S. If more money is needed, have all members in Congress pay their taxes... Oh, and Mr. President, while you're at it, make Congress retire on Social Security and Medicare. I'll bet both programs would be fixed pronto!

One thing that I think should be added to this list: All elected officials should be paid minimum wage.

It would be wonderful, but my calculations show it would cost $400 Trillion.

Seems so simple but Government can't do anything simple.

I especially like the part about putting retired Congress members on Social Security and Medicare.
