In the world of celebrity, the rich and famous seem to live by different rules. Why? Personally, I have no idea.
For some reason, when it comes to judging these individuals society seems to be a much more forgiving or tolerant community. The rich and famous seem to make their own rules, even when it comes to naming their children. Don't get me wrong, when I was pregnant with both of my boys, I searched through tons of baby name books looking for something "different", something that spoke to me. But at the same time I considered the fact that my children would have to live with the name my husband and I chose for them for the rest of their lives. Just a few of the most unusual celebrity baby names I have heard thus far include names such as Apple, Fifi Trixibelle, Peaches, Banjo, Zola, Pax, and Satchel. Hard to believe? Well, it's true. Do a google search sometime on celebrity baby names and you may be surprised at what you find. Poor kids! Can you imagine sending your child to school on their first day of kindergarten with a name tag that reads: Hi! My name is Moon Unit. Musician Frank Zappa and his wife Gail could and did. (Ha!) What are some of the strangest, most unusual names for children you have heard? Why do you think celebrities decide on names for their kids that are extremely unique, to say the least? Well, the names aren't so much what bothers me. It's the initials that are produced from the sequence the names are given. My husband's nephew who happens to be the only son of a big Star Wars Fan was brilliantly named Anikan Skywalker, and his last name starts with an S. Poor kid! When he has to initial papers in school and on applications he has to write a dirty word!!!
I Love Johnny Cash! Speaking of a boy named Sue ... I met this guy a long time ago and his name was Ashley. Now, I have seen Gone with the Wind (BIG FAN), however, I am not keen on using girls names for boys. By the way, Ashley hated his name too! ;)
Good thinking on your part as to the consequences imparted by naming a child.
Harks to Johnny Cash's song, "A Boy Named Sue."
Free Love?! Ha :)
That sounds so 1960's. My thoughts just turned to a teacher of mine who had a daughter named Sunflower. No kidding!
Don't know about celebrities, but I once had a student whose father was named "Free Love."
