Cali Living by CBHine -- Young and Restless

Recently, my husband and I spent time in Palm Springs. It's really a cool, quaint town, plus all the new communities that have popped up around it are lovely.
The historic downtown area has so much character. It has the look of yesteryear when Frank, Ben and Dean (among others) hung out there.
There are still lots of stars living in the desert area; in fact I read in the LA Times that Suzanne Somers has her home on the market for a mere $38 million in the Palm Springs area!! Barry Manilow lives in Palm Springs and jets to Vegas several times a week for his show. The weather this time of year is near perfection but in the summer months it is another story!! Not a place to spend your summer months! I am assuming there is a mass exodus of those who can afford leaving for cooler grounds!
While eating at a restaurant downtown I was visiting with the owner/manager and he mentioned that he was married to an actress. His wife is a star on The Young and the Restless! I nearly had heart failure since I have watched Y & R since I was in high school. She plays the role of "Gloria" on the Y & R (Judith Chapman). Judith's husband extended an invitation to tour the set with his wife and to be introduced to the other stars of the Y & R.! I can't wait!! Considering the ICE in Stoddard Co. I would rather be HOME!!! I will take the summer in the desert over this stuff ANYDAY!!!
Okay, so did you do the tourista thing and get your picture made with the husband of the star?
Ha! No I didn't get my picture made with him. He was very down to earth, but I did hug him when we left for extending the invitation. I'm thinking I will go to the set in March when I'm out on spring break. One of my buddies from Kennett is going to fly in and go with me!
myheart-- the weather here has been terrible lately. One rain storm after the next and is suppose to continue through the weekend. Its also cold! Just a week ago we were laying out by the pool with sunscreen on!!! Have to be thankful for the rain since it will stop soon and we wont' see it for another 6-9 months!!!
Was the food good?
Did you happen to go to the Street Festival that goes on every Thursday evening? My wife and I use to go there every week. I always bought the different flavored liquoris. (My main reason for going). We left that area September of 2006. We absolutely loved it there!
