Cali living by C.B. Hine -- celebrity train wreck

Posted Thursday, January 17, 2008, at 4:13 PM

Do you ever get tired of hearing about the newest celebrity train wreck? What are these young women thinking (and men)?

Britney Spears hospitalized and here comes Dr. Phil. I loved what Nancy Grace said recently on Larry King Live, "Larry, I would like to see Kevin Federline drug tested weekly." Why are the authorities not focusing some on this guy?

Does this put Britney out front of Lindsey Lohan, Nicole Ritchie or Paris Hilton? Who's next?

Rehabilitation has taken on a whole new meaning. Even a new song, Rehab, by a rehabber herself, Amy Winehouse. Why do these celebrities seem to seek out publicity in such a negative way?

Oh and lets not forget OJ! Finally a judge in Las Vegas was angered by his actions. Honestly, I was thrilled!! I am sorry, but has he not asked for it? And maybe I'm asking for it here…. Tell me what YOU think?

Glad to hear your son made it home. I thought about him when I read the news on the avalaches.

I am TRYING to talk my spouse into a "road trip", but I don't think he is buying it LOL.

I was recently over at Redlands at the university there for a swim meet, beautiful campus!!! Both of my children have learned to drive out here. As you know, they have to take driving lessons before they can get their license. My son is very good in all the traffic and my daughter is getting better. It is unnerving. I actually lived in Claremont 6 months before I ever left the town for fear of the freeways! Now i'm good to go. It's a monster! My son is back, but they are having avalaches up there now with one person dead and two that cannot be found... mud slides will start tomorrow i'm betting...good luck on your trip. This places changes overnight!

Hope you son stays put until the sun comes back. Normally just takes a few hours, well maybe a day this year.

My youngest wants to drive to Redlands to see his Uncle then drive to Washington State. Had to look on line for show chains LOL!!!

Bad thing is the boy has NEVER driven in SOCA!!! I will be a total wreck by the time he gets to Alaska.

Yes I do miss the bootheel, but its more about the people than the physical area. Funny you mention you are from socal, i was watching Gilmore Girls rerun the other day and one of the actors said something like, hey when someone moves to California they are changed for life, never the same again. i guess that is true huh? What do you think?

We are getting some freezing rain up near Victorville.... my son went snow skiing this afternoon, the mountains are covered. Its really pretty!

RE: miss the Bootheel?? NOT ME, I would trade places with you in a heart beat. BUT, I am a NATIVE of SOCA, totaly out of my element here. Stay warm, and remember it's only rain - not FREEZING rain.

I woke up this morning and looking out my kitchen window I saw the San Gabriels covered in snow. The top part has been many times before, but the lower part, not since I've been here (4 years now). I will tell you one thing, its very cold! Maybe my blood is thinner now than it was back in good ole southeast Missouri, the high today was 52 degrees and raining all day and predictions of rain through the weekend. We are so use to sunshine, its very depressing when is like this. I'm ruined i suppose! HA! I sure miss the bootheel!

As a young mother, the whole Britney Spears thing makes my stomach turn. I cannot believe that she is allowing herself to live the way she appears to be. I do feel for her in that no one should be hounded and followed the way that she is with her children, however, much if not most of the attention brought upon her is caused by herself. Common sense tells you that when you are a mother your children and their safety comes first. I think the best thing she could do for herself is to stay away from her boys until she gets her tragic drug problem under control. Let's face it... the chick is on something serious and I doubt that its prescribed. She needs serious treatment (and not by Dr. Phil. lol) not only for her obvious drug use but for her mental issues, I would assume she has those too. Only then should she be able to re-establish a relationship with her children.

See, Its just like Mike Vick and dog fighting was national news, but Dr. Wilson "A VET" will only be local. He's A Vet For God Sake. He should be in the same shoes as Vick if not in more. For he should have "REALLY" known better.

Yes they would. And I would think the same would be true in LA County provided it wasn't a celeb. LA is know for protecting their stars...

I think that I am really tired of the news coverage. If they were not "stars" we wouldn't hear a thing, and if those children were in Dunklin or Stoddard county they would be in FOSTER CARE
