According to sources, KORN and SHINEDOWN, the lead the lineup for the 2009 Beale Street Music Festival, scheduled for May 1-3 in Memphis, Tennessee, joining them as part of the bill's modern rock contingent will be:

RISE AGAINST, 311, HINDER, FALL OUT BOY and THEORY OF A DEADMAN.

The lineup will also feature KATY PERRY, AL GREEN, GEORGE CLINTON & PARLIAMENT FUNKADELIC, SNOOP DOGG, JAMES TAYLOR, ELVIS COSTELLO and others.

The Beale Street Music Festival--2008 featured over 60 acts on 4 stages in scenic Tom Lee Park where Beale Street meets the Mississippi. This, in addition to the artists who performed in the clubs along Beale Street, offered music lovers an opportunity to immerse themselves in the art form they love best. And the 2009 festival promises to be bigger than ever!

The Beale Street Music Festival has been nominated for a Concert Industry Award for the Music Festival of The Year, and was named by Playboy Magazine as one of the Fun 2000 events - a "must-do list" for the new millennium. The Beale Street Music Festival also hosted media such as VH1, Rolling Stone, MTV, Billboard, Cashbox, Pollstar, National Geographic, the BBC and dozens of other national publications, international television networks and blues publications.

It's the Mardi Gras of the Mid-South!

Past performers include these legends: Iggy & The Stooges, Jerry Lee Lewis, Daughtry, B.B. King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Ray Charles, Beck, Van Morrison, ZZ Top, Al Green, Dave Matthew's Band, John Lee Hooker, Sammy Haggar, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Styx, Charlie Daniels, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Kansas, Cheap Trick, Creed, Collective Soul, Peter Frampton, Sheryl Crow, Booker T & the MG's, Ablert King, Widespread Panic, Etta James, Bob Dylan, James Brown, Bonnie Raitt, Wilson Pickett, Hootie and the Blowfish, James Cotton, Blues Traveler, Bobby Blue Bland, Black Crowes, Ziggy Marley, the Allman Brothers Band, The Offspring, Saliva, Puddle Of Mud, Tom Petty and many more.

The Beale Street Music Festival has grown into one of the largest parties in the United States, drawing people from all over the country to come experience a celebration of the birth of an expressive art form that materialised as the music known as the Blues. Gritty, raw, and full of emotion; Beale Street symbolises everything that the Blues was born from. Like a mother rearing its young, the Blues took shape from its surroundings and became one of the most expressive musical outlets today. You cannot appreciate music without understanding the roots of the Blues, and you cannot appreciate the Blues without visiting the place where it was born: Beale Street, Memphis, Tn. where (almost) anything goes!

So after seeing the line up will you make it out to this year's BSM Festival? And who would you like to see the most out of this great list of performers?

"9 Tips" for the Festival-Goer

1.Guys, Wear Beads. You know what they're for, so don't give them out unless you see the goods! A smooth negotiator can get into some clubs and even get free drinks at some clubs with a few beads.
2.Get a room near Beale Street. There are several Hotels within walking distance of Beale Street and we can't stress it enough ...Staying near Beale is worth it's weight in gold!
3.If you get there early enough there are SEVERAL parking spaces within feet of Beale Street that a Motor home can park in.
4.Bring Walkie Talkies. If you get separated from your group you will never find them without them.
5.Most people don't realize that some of the best action is on Beale Street itself. Don't spend all of your time in the park watching the concerts. Go to Beale Street and PARTY, PARTY, PARTY!
6.Respect the law. Don't do STUPID ACTS in front of the police. Memphis cops are very friendly and will pretty much look the other way for a lot of things but don't flaunt illegal activity in front of them.
7.Big Secret, There's a parking lot at the end of Beale Street right across from the Orpheum Theatre. Park your car there and keep a cooler in it with your favorite beverages. You'll have a pit stop on your way to and from the concert area to have a quick cheap drink. You'll have to get here at the right time to get parking in this lot but it's worth the time and money you'll save instead of buying expensive drinks on Beale Street.
8.One of the best drink deals you can find on Beale Street is at a little place called Wet Willies. When you walk in, the place looks like a Dairy Queen because of all the frozen drink machines, but don't be fooled! Their "Call a cab" is one of the strongest drinks to be had on Beale. If you drink 2 or more, you're on your way to trouble!
9.Another Beale Street "must do" can be found at Silky's. It's those Yellow buckets you see everyone carrying around. They're called a "diver" because if you drink one you will go down!
