The fight...Posted Tuesday, August 12, 2008, at 4:24 PM
With all of the different sources that fight the mean and nasty cancer that has plagued our world and destroyed so many families lives, I think to myself, does everyone know about every resource that may be available to their situation?
Most people in our area know of the excellent job that Relay For Life, American Cancer Society, UCAN, United Way and more do for us. We remember these organizations like house whole names because they are there for us anytime we may need to use them. And I salute them for all the time, dedication, and money that it takes to make these organizations have the ability to help us if need be.
I have come to realize that a lot of the Bands that I have worked with have done at least one benefit for cancer. Some bands did it for free and some cut their cost in half and sometimes even more just so the event would earn more money for the cause. But do we really remember the names of the bands that help? I'm just wondering because the bands work their tails off to help support the fight against cancer and many other causes. And I just want to say THANK YOU to all the local bands that help us out with these fights that we are trying to defeat and cure. And I Salute You Too!!!!
Does anyone other than committee members remember who played at the Relay For Life this year? Comments Showing most recent comments first [Show in chronological order instead] |

No Thanks needed, See, not many know that my father is going through the fight of his life. Being that he has had two open heart surgeries, and a diabetic, he has to take expiramental meds. He has defeated this cancer once before. He lost his spleen, kidney and an 8lb tumer. He lives in a house that is in dire need of help. And since I dont have the funds to help him in the way that I would like, I mean heck, they still help me, (ya just gotta love moms and dads)The point is, I may not be able to help my Dad, But I try to help whom ever I can.
You are right Badbones, there are many people behind the scenes of any benefit that deserve a great amount of thanks and recogition for their work and contributions to the cause of fighting cancer. YOU ARE ONE OF THEM!!
