BadBones - Campaign songs

Posted Monday, January 28, 2008, at 10:18 PM

Right now politicians are running all over the country selling themselves to the American people. All of them have some sort of music for when they enter and exit the stage that they stand upon. So do you think that it would matter what song was played by our next president? If you say no, are you sure about that?

Songs have meaning no matter how you look at it. And that will never change. Choosing a campaign song could be more difficult than one might think. Before choosing you would have to really listen to the lyrics to make your decision. Some songs sound cool but if you listen to what they say or even sometimes how they are worded, it completely changes the meaning of the words in the song.

I feel music plays a big part in the race, Candidates need a great song to push them over the edge after their speech so the people will feel uplifted and better about what was just said by the one they want to be president. Here is an example,

Say Mrs. Clinton gets done speaking and then the song Running with the Devil by Van Halen starts playing. Would you still vote for her?

Say Mr. Giuliani from NY finished his speech and then used Click Click Boom by Saliva. Would you still vote for him?

So I ask you,

What would you say the best song for campaigning would be?

How about "I've Got a Lovely Bunch of Coconuts" for Obama?

Perhaps Helen Reddy's "I am Woman" would be appropriate for Mrs. Clinton :)

I am woman, hear me roar

In numbers too big to ignore

And I know too much to go back an' pretend

'cause I've heard it all before

And I've been down there on the floor

No one's ever gonna keep me down again

CHORUS

Oh yes I am wise

But it's wisdom born of pain

Yes, I've paid the price

But look how much I gained

If I have to, I can do anything

I am strong (strong)

I am invincible (invincible)

I am woman

You can bend but never break me

'cause it only serves to make me

More determined to achieve my final goal

And I come back even stronger

Not a novice any longer

'cause you've deepened the conviction in my soul

CHORUS

I am woman watch me grow

See me standing toe to toe

As I spread my lovin' arms across the land

But I'm still an embryo

With a long long way to go

Until I make my brother understand

Oh yes I am wise

But it's wisdom born of pain

Yes, I've paid the price

But look how much I gained

If I have to I can face anything

I am strong (strong)

I am invincible (invincible)

I am woman

Oh, I am woman

I am invincible

I am strong

FADE

I am woman

I am invincible

I am strong

I am woman
