Malden relatives and friends were saddened to learn of the death to cancer of Sherrie Cecil of Poplar Bluff. Interment was held in the Smith Stevenson Cemetery in Bernie, Mo.

Folks enjoyed dinner and a movie at the Malden First Christian Church last Friday. "Heaven's Doors" was the movie presented following dinner.

A number of Malden folks attended the spectacular Semo Bridal Exposition held at the Black River Coliseum last Saturday in Poplar Bluff.

Terry and Joy Miller have returned from a week's cruise trip to the Caribbean. The embarked from Jacksonville, Fl.

Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Read of Dexter visited the Malden Historic Museum last week. They researched history on their grandfather, Mr. McMillian of Malden.

Adult Bible Study is being conducted at the First Christian Church on Wednesday nights at 7 p.m.

Poplar Bluff's Tyler Hansbrough appeared in last week's Poplar Bluff paper in play with the pro basketball Pacers. We remember seeing him play with the Poplar Bluff High School team.

The father and two young sons who perished on a Missouri hiking trail were from my hometown, Millstead, Il., near Belleville. The father worked at nearby Scott Air Base.

The Malden Community Center is open every morning at 7 a.m. for walkers. This is a fine opportunity for fitness.
