Malden friends were saddened to learn of the recent death of Mr. James Algood of Dexter. The Algoods formerly resided in Malden. His son Jeremy resides in Bernie.

A birthday cake and ice cream party was enjoyed by the celebrants at the Golden Living Center last week.

Christmas basket treats were delivered to the nursing homes by the First Christian Church.

Mrs. Pam Green Ross and daughter of Visalia, California spent the Christmas holidays with relatives and friends in Malden. Pam is a former Malden native and Malden High School graduate.

Mr. and Mrs. Larry Wagster of Oxford, Mississippi spent the holidays with Mr. J.D. Wagster.

Recent groups who came in buses to tour the Malden Bootheel Youth Museum included the following: Neelyville Headstart, Malden Elementary, Saint Frances Xavier, Corning Elementary, Richland Elementary, Malden Elementary Boxtops 2, and Jonesboro Area Homeschool Group.

Caryl and Shirley Holtzhouser entertained their family during the holidays.

Lindsay Jennings of Bernie has received a bachelor of science degree in Criminal Justice from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau.

The morning fellowship study club of the First Christian Church met at the home of Mrs. Norma Hartsfield on Monday morning.

Mr. and Mrs. Aulden LeBlanc and children have returned home following a holiday visit with relatives in Jennings, Louisiana.

Mrs. Carol Demaree has returned home following a holiday trip with her family Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Demaree of Bentonville, Arkansas and also with friends in Branson.
