Frankie and John Dell and Alice and Lloyd Hankins of Malden spent Friday in Van Buren where they attended the funeral services for their aunt, Mrs. Jeanne Berry, 93, at the McFadden Funeral Chapel. Father Mark Binder of St. George's Catholic Church officiated. Also in attendance was Win Lowery of Ferguson.

The folks at the Stokelan Drive Christian Church once again presented the Living Nativity Scene during this year's Christmas season.

A number of former members of the old Lone Oak General Baptist Church were entertained at the Malden First General Baptist Church in November. Refreshments were served during the fellowship hour.

On Sunday, December 2, Southeast Missouri State awarded school honors to Mariam Snider, the daughter of Ann Snider of Malden and the granddaughter of Jeanette Wright, Malden librarian.
