The Bernie Boy Scout Troop held a successful drive for canned food last Saturday. They report a successful result and say "Thank You".

A large number of Malden folks attended the wonderful Turkey Day dinner held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dexter last Sunday.

Malden friends have been advised of the death of Les Mueller, 93, of Belleville and Millstadt, Ill. on October 25, 2012. Les, a pitcher, played professional baseball with the Detroit Tigers and earned $700 per month.

Thanksgiving dinner was observed at the Malden Nutrition Center Tuesday, November 20.

Phyllis German and grandchildren of Malden, Laura Wright of Smithville, Ark. and Mrs. Sarah Cooper of Grandin, Missouri visited the Malden Historic Museum recently.

"Harold and the Boys" musical group of the Bernie-Malden area entertained a large crowd at the Malden Nutrition Center last Wednesday during the luncheon hour. Thanks go to this spirited group.

Mrs. Kavrie Selby of Valparaiso, Indiana visited friends in Malden last week.

Sarah and Callie Arnold visited with a number of Malden friends last week. Sarah lives in Seattle, Washington and Callie lives in San Francisco, California. They also visited Sarah's nephew who lives in Sikeston. Sarah is a former Malden resident, her mother was Betty Arnold.

Elizabeth "Ibby" Haskins won the flower door prize given at the Malden Flower Shop's holiday open house.

Followers of the Hansbrough brothers of Poplar Bluff are excited to know they are now team mates on basketball's Indiana Pacers team. Quite an accomplishment!
