Letters are being circulated throughout Malden by the Malden School Beta Club to participate in a community drive to help fight hunger among Malden School students. This effort is in collaboration with the Southeast Missouri Food Bank. Letters were signed by Mark Pickard, Beta Sponsor, Traci Wilson, Beta Sponsor, and Debe Eaves, Beta coordinator.

Many Malden folks attended the downtown Stoddard County Fair in Dexter last weekend.

Dinner and a movie was enjoyed by the folks at the First Christian Church last Friday evening.

Christopher Crain of Malden graduated from the Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau with a bachelor of science degree in Criminal Justice.

A foot clinic was conducted at the Malden Nutrition Center last Wednesday morning.

A Bingo and popcorn party was enjoyed by the Golden Living residents and guests on Thursday afternoon.

The Malden High School students enjoyed a homecoming dance last Friday evening. The sixth through eighth grades enjoyed their homecoming dance October 4.

Several Malden folks visited the 1910 Amtrak Depot in Poplar Bluff during the Iron Horse Festival in Poplar Bluff last weekend.

Phylis Farehand of Arlington, Texas and her sister Linda Harper of Denver, Colorado visited the Malden Historic Museum last week. They were researching their mother's relatives, the Boyer family.

Rev. Bobby Phillips of Cape Girardeau spent the weekend in Malden with friends. Bobby is a former Malden resident and a Malden High graduate.

Mr. and Mrs. Jim Demaree and family of Bentonville, Arkansas have returned home following a stay with relatives in Malden.
