LaToya Downs of Malden graduated during spring commencement exercise held at Southeast Missouri State University at Cape Girardeau. LaToya received a degree in criminal justice.

The board of the Malden Historic Museum met at the museum last Thursday night.

Elvis impersonator entertained the luncheon folks at the Twin Towers dining room in Poplar Bluff last week.

Marilyn Dickens of Campbell, Mo., graduated Summa Cum Laud from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau during spring commencement exercises. Marilyn received a degree in bachelor of science in criminal justice.

Mrs. Betty Grimes Keene of Huntsville, Al., has returned home following a visit with relatives and friends in Malden. Betty is a Malden High graduate.

The 50/50 scholarship 2012 drawing from last years Malden Homecoming went to Jodi Henderson daughter of Jack and Peggy Henderson and Jordan Rice son of Jonathan and Angie Rice.

The Malden City Council will meet at the City Hall Monday evening September 10, at 7:00 p.m.

United States War Veterans are invited to join the Malden Post VFW at 122 W. Main in Malden.

Malden's Narvel Felts appeared in concert at the Midwest Old Threshers Reunion in Mount Pleasant, Iowa.. the weekend of August 30.

The Malden Presbyterian Church congregation enjoyed a dinner in the fellowship hall following services Sunday morning. The men did the cooking.

The Malden Alumni Association met at the Malden Community Center to finalize plans for the Malden Homecoming. The alumni has met for 16 years to plan for the High School Homecoming festivities.

Birthday celebrants at the Malden Bootheel Youth Museum included the following: Gage Nabbert, Trent Burton, Dalton Lewis, Natalie Boyd, Abby Crawford, Madison Dixon, and Parker Myhere. Families and relatives joined the celebrants in the party room for birthday cake and ice cream.
