Ashli Wallace has returned home after spending the summer studying at the Cha' Art Thailand Campus of Webster University. After classes ended, she joined her father Steve Wallace in Cambodia. From there, they back packed through Phymon Perk and Storm Reap. Among other antiquities they visited ancient temples of Angkar Wat and the infamous killing fields. Ashli is a senior at Webster University Webster Groves, Mo., majoring in photo journalism. She is the daughter of Steve Wallace and Judy Wallace of Malden.

Mr. Bruce Shipley of near St. Louis will be the guest speaker in the pulpit of the First Christian Church on Homecoming Sunday, September 2. A catered luncheon will be served following the service. Bruce and Harriet are former Malden residents.

Malden's Narvel Felts will present a guest concert at the Lady Luck Casino in Caruthersville on Saturday night, September 22. The concert will be held in the outdoor theater.

Brody Elder and Tiffany Miller of Malden are listed in the Deans list of Arkansas State University of Jonesboro, Ark.

Bill and Ellen Brow have been visiting with their daughter Marta Hampton and family. The Brows are from Davis, Ca., and Ellen helped Marta drive to Bemidji, Minnesota, where sons Isaac and Matthew will enroll in spanish and french camp for the summer sessions.

A "Back to School Splash" party was enjoyed on the grounds of the First Southern Baptist Church in Malden last Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Hot dogs and lunch was served at noon. Aulden LeBlanc is the pastor at First Southern Baptist.

A surprise 90th birthday party was held at the United Methodist Church in Malden on Sunday morning following services. Cake and punch were served by the joint hostesses: Susan Martin, Becky Potts and Andrea Woolverton.
