The following out of town groups visited and toured the Malden Bootheel Youth Museum during the past months; Neelyville Headstart, Sikeston Eagle program, Greenville Grade School, Oak Grove Elementary, Malden Box Tops, Malden Daycare, Southland, Chaffee Elementary, Clearwater Elementary, and Matthews Elementary.
Beginning in July, Jeff and Kara Krupinski of the Malden First Christian Church will be hosting an in home Bible study in their home on Monday evenings, beginning at 6:00 p.m. It will consist of the study of letters of Paul and last approximately one hour. Everyone is welcome and refreshments will be served. Mr. and Mrs. James Thorn of Cella, Ala., near Birmingham, and Mr. and Mrs. Denzil Thorn of Chapel Hill, North Carolina., visited with their sister Mrs. Louise Key last week. Bruce Qualls of Jackson, Mo., visited with friends in Malden last week. A group of Campbell school children visited the Malden Historic Museum last Thursday. Congratulations are in order for Betty Qualls, administrator of the Malden Nutrition Center. Betty appeared in the July monthly AA reports magazine from Cape Girardeau for her perfect score on the FY 2012 assessment on the Malden Nutrition Center. A beautiful potted floral plant was presented the winners. I wish to extend appreciation to Bob, our Malden Humane Officer for his solving of my attic cat problem. I inadvertently left my stairwell down in my carport and then had nights of bouncing about in my attic. I later learned these cats are put to use in large barns in Kennett, where is an abundance of mice and vermin. |
