Tyler Qualls, a 2010 graduate of Jackson Missouri High School, and a student at Southern Louisiana Tech, has signed on with the Canadian Kelowna Falcons for the summer season. Tyler, a catcher, will be playing in Washington, Oregon, California and Canada through out the summer. Tyler is the son of Bruce and Chris Qualls and his sister Mollie is a senior at Jackson Missouri High School. He is the grandson of Betty Qualls of Malden.
Mrs. Louise Key entertained her brother and his wife, and her sister for a wonderful week of visiting. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Denzil Thorn of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and Mrs. Ida Montgomery of Waynsboro, Virginia. Reggie and Joanie Greer and son Matthew of Bella Vista, Ark., visited with Malden relatives and friends. The Greers are former Malden residents. The Malden Speedway race track was again featured on KFVS television of Cape Girardeau. Kennett's Sheryl Crow appeared on the international Tony Awards show on television CBS last Sunday evening. A great honor presenter for the Tony awards in their category. The seventh grade through high school of the Malden High School system enjoyed a swim party at the Dexter swim park. They were accompanied by teachers. Bingo games will be in progress Thursday morning, June 28 at the Malden Senior Center, with prizes. Three Rivers College in Poplar Bluff has announced the spring Deans List, which included the Malden students as follows: Jeffery Andrews, Kendra Johns, Nicholaus Howe, Amber Collins, Lucy Storet, Miriam Snider, Isaac Wilson, Tara Tramel and Tiffany Nole. Congratulations to all. Tyler Hansborough is Poplar Bluff's basketball star, now with the Indiana Pacers. |
