A large crowd attended the special Memorial Day services at the Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo., on Monday. Guest speaker was Representative Jo Ann Emerson.

Music celebrity Narvel Felts of Malden appeared in concert at the Roger's Theater in Poplar Bluff last Saturday night. The very interesting Narvel Felts display at the Malden Historical Museum is on going all through out June. Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Tuesday afternoon.

John Welsch attended the SIU Carbondale baseball game verses Southwest Missouri State at Springfield last week. John's son Jake, is a member of the SIU team.

Poplar Bluff's baseball star Tyler Hansborough was shown in play with his Indiana Pacer team over KFVS 12 television last week.

Mrs. Carmen Camp and daughter Madison of Memphis spent Memorial Day holiday with Malden relatives.

Mr. Donald Boone returned to his home in Washington, D.C. last week following a visit with his brother Harold Boone of Malden.

Captain Lance Dell of Poplar Bluff was interviewed on national television from Busch Stadium in St. Louis during special Memorial Day events. The St. Louis Cardinal game was transmitted to our valuable U.S. Troops over seas, with their families in the stadium enjoying the game.
