Betty Qualls, Director of the Malden Senior Citizens Center, attended the two day meeting session of the Southeast Missouri Area of Agency Board last Wednesday and Thursday. The meeting was held at the American Best Value Inn in Sikeston. During the administration session, Betty Qualls of Malden Center was awarded a large beautiful potted plant for perfect assessment.
~~~~~~~~~ The Malden Community Center remains open at 7:00 a.m. weekly for all walkers. ~~~~~~~~~ Mr. and Mrs. Barry Arnold and family of Hayti, Mo., visited the Malden Historic Museum last week. Barry is a member of the 1989 Malden High School Class. ~~~~~~~~~ Kennett's star Sheryl Crow appeared as a soloist in the splendid musical concert given in the White House East room last week. Sheryl first appeared in a duet with Lyle Lovett and later as a single soloist. The event honored legendary Burt Bacharct and Hal Davis, famous music artists and writers. ~~~~~~~~~ The Mo-Ark Christian Camp opened with a special celebration on the camp grounds at 4:00 p.m. last Sunday afternoon. Malden Christian Church, and area churches are affiliated. The camp is located near Naylor in a beautiful nature setting. ~~~~~~~~~ Mrs. Barbara Bath has returned home following a lengthy stay with her family. Mr. and Mrs. Marc Watson and family of Fish Lake, Roxbury, Wi. While there, they all attended commencement exercises in the U of Wisconsin Whitewater Auditorium where Katherine Watson received a degree in Journalism. The family gathered after for dinner. ~~~~~~~~~ Steven Culp of Little Rock, Ar., visited with his mother, Mrs. Dovie Culp and other relatives last week. ~~~~~~~~~ Chester and Linda Harvell, and their son Ethan Harvell. Jr. of Scott City, and his son Ethan Harvell spent last weekend in St. Louis where they visited the Busch's Grant Farm and the famous Clydesdales. |
