The sixth grade students of Malden Elementary enjoyed a bus tip to Van Buren last Wednesday. They toured Big Springs and the scenic Current River, and enjoyed a picnic lunch in the Big Springs State Park. The students were accompanied by teachers.

Girl Scout Kassidy Walker accompanied the girl scout troop leaders on a trip to Springfield, Mo., recently. The trip honored the 100th anniversary of the girl scout organization.

Large tall sections of wooded shelves were recently donated to the Malden Historical Museum by the Dunklin County Library. The shelving had been used in libraries out in the county recently closed. The shelves have been quickly put to use in the Malden Historical Museum.

The fellowship study club of Malden's Stokelan Drive Christian Church meets at 5:00 on Thursday at the church.

Mrs. Kay Fields of Collierville, Tn., near Memphis, spent the weekend with Mrs. Martha Daughtery and Drew Daughtery.

Bob McDonald of Poplar Bluff, spent last weekend with relatives and friends in Malden. Bob is a former Malden resident, and served as Malden Chief of Police.

Poplar Bluff School Superintendent, Chris Hon appeared on an interview on the KFVS 12 television in Cape Girardeau in regards to the Poplar Bluff school issue. Chris is a former graduate of the Risco High School.

Robert and Maxine Medlin spent the weekend with relatives in St. Charles and St. Louis.

Malden folks attended the Qulin Lions Club dinner held in the Lions Club last Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Babcock and family of St. Ann, Mo., spent the week in Malden with friends. Wayne is a former Malden resident.

Phyllis and Arden Tolleson have returned home following a trip to Lynchburg and Gatlinburg, Tn. While there they met Malcolm Link and enjoyed his show at Dollywood. Link, is also a former Malden resident.
