John and Judi Amon have returned home following a trip to Rogers, Arkansas, where they visited with their family-Hank and Lori Pierce and family of Rogers and Lisa and Rick Richardson of Centerton, Arkansas. While there, they welcomed the newest addition to their family, a baby girl named Annli Rebecka Evans, born April 18, 2012 and weighing in at five pounds, ten ounces. Proud parents are Meagan Pierce and Will Evans of Bella Vista, Arkansas. Grandparents are Lori and Hank Pierce of Rogers, Ark. and great grandparents are Judi and John Amon of Malden. Annli has two brothers, Wyatt Pierce and Cayden Evans.

Malden folks attended the Arts and Science Fair held at the Qulin Middle School Gymnasium last week.

James "Whistle" Smith and his wife Linda of Brookline Station, Mo., spent the weekend in Maldne with relatives and friends. "Whistle" is a former Malden resident as the son of the late Clarence Smith. He and his wife own and operate the Whistle Ranch with Irish Dexter Cattle.

Jake Welch, the son of John Welch of Malden, is a student at Southern Illinois State University at Carbondale and is also a member of the SIU baseball team. Go, Jake, go!

The Board of the Malden Historic Museum held their regular montly meeting Wednesday evening in the Malden School Room of the museum. Chairman Randy Moore presided.

Andrew Medlin and Chelsie Kennady of Saint Charles, Mo. were guests of Robert and Maxine Medlin.

The American Red Cross conducted a blood drive last Monday at the Malden Elementary School.

The Alley Springs Camp Ground at Eminence, Mo. has reopened for campers.

Beginning May 7, a new Bible study has begun at the Malden United Methodist Church. The class will meet each Monday morning at 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Dana Gough of the Malden Nursing and Rehab conducted Bingo games at the Malden Senior Center last Thursday morning. Prizes were awarded to the winners.
