The Malden Chamber Maids Relay of Life team will host a charity fund raiser on Friday evening, March 30, at the Malden Community Center form 6:30 p.m. To 8:30 p.m. All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Clothing and accessories will be swapped.

A group of folks have returned from a Carnival cruise to Mexico embarking from New Orleans. The following enjoyed the weeks cruise. Bonnie Bomar of Malden, Sonny and Carmen Kilfo of Bowling Green, Ky., Jerry and Georgia Beasley of Clarkton, Geraldine Robinson of Martson, Bill Smith of Grassy, Carmelita Bailey of Grassy, Doyal and Carol Lenning of Dexter, Butch Woodall of Puxico, Melissa Wilkins of Puxico.

Mr. and Mrs. John Hunter of Dexter visited with Malden relatives last week.

The Stokelyn Drive Nursing and Rehab center will conduct bingo games with prizes at the Malden Nutrition Center for seniors on Thursday, morning March 29.

Guy Fred Wallace of Collierville, Tn., has returned home following a stay in Malden with friends. Guy Fred is a former Malden resident.

Mr. F.L. Robinson of near Bernie presented gifts of fresh turnips from his produce garden to luncheon guests at the Malden Senior Citizens site last Friday.

Malden and area folks attended Republican candidate Rick Santorum's appearance at the Show Me Center in Cape Girardeau last Saturday. Santorum also appeared a the Cape Girardeau airport for photographs and autographs.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Medlin of Malden became great grandparents upon the birth of baby Natalia Medlin. Parents of the newcomer are Jimmie and Maranda Medlin of Panama City, Fl. The local Medlin's made a trip to Panama City to welcome the newcomer.

Mr. and Mrs. Chad Ross and daughter of Ozark, Mo., spent last weekend in Malden with relatives and friends.

Guest Pastors at the Spoonerville Baptist Church on Sunday were John Beard of Sikeston area, and Mr. Bill Jackson of Alabama. Bill is a former Malden resident. Refreshments were served in the fellowship hall following the service.

The Mingo National Wildlife Refuge at Puxico will sponsor a youth conservation corp employment program for the summer of 2012. This is an educational work program at the refuge for eight weeks this summer. Follow up can be received at Mingo throughout April.

Kennett's famous star Sheryl Crow appeared in a splendid duet with the wonderful Tony Bennett last weekend on the public television station. Super entertainment.

The annual bake sale will be held at the Malden Senior Center Saturday, April 13.

Bingo games with prizes will be conducted a the senior nutrition site Thursday, March 29, by the nursing home.

Mr. and Mrs. John Amon have returned home following a visit with relatives in Rogers, Ark., their daughters and famalies reside in Rogers. Mr. and Mrs. Rick Richardson, and Chuck and Lori Pierce and family.
