The Malden Chamber of Commerce has placed a large sign outside the Malden Historical Museum on North Beckwith Street as the "Business of the Month".
~~~~~~~~~ The United Methodist Women's group met for the regular monthly meeting in the church hall Thursday afternoon. ~~~~~~~~~ Dinner and a movie will be presented at the First Christian Church Friday evening March 23, at 6:00 p.m. Following dinner, the movie, "What if" will be presented. ~~~~~~~~~ A beautiful hand made quilt is on display at the Malden Nutrition site. Sale of tickets will totally benefit the nutrition site and will be matched by the Modern Woodman Association. The lucky winner will be announced in a drawing on April 13, the day of the bake sale. ~~~~~~~~~ Allen and Susan Johnson of Independence, Kansas visited the Malden Historical Museum last Saturday. They were researching history on the Goodwin, Lasater, and Chester and Eleanor Peck families. ~~~~~~~~~ Our familiar announcers from Cape Girardeau's KFVS television station were on hand to broadcast from the storm stricken area in Harrisburg, Ill. ~~~~~~~~~ Bootheel cluster Lenten services will be held at the United Methodist Church during March on Sunday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. from March 4 through April 1, Palm Sunday. Services will be held in Kennett, Steele, Hayti, Senath, Malden and Cauthersville. ~~~~~~~~~ Mr. Larry Wagster has returned to Oxford, Ms., following a visit to Malden with his father J.D. Wagster. ~~~~~~~~~ The Modern Woodman Association held the monthly dinner at the Pizza Hut on Thursday evening. ~~~~~~~~~ Malden folks attended country singer Moe Bandy's concert held at the historic Rogers Theater in Poplar Bluff Saturday evening. ~~~~~~~~~ Mr. and Mrs. Sam Snider of Prescott City, Arizona have returned home following a stay in Malden. |
