Private First Class Habeeb Al-Mashla is presently stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He is a member of the 82nd Airborne Division. He is currently in a language course class to be an Arabic language translator. PFC Al-Mashla is the son of Marilyn (Goode) Al-Mashla of Malden. His grandparents are Martin and Carolyn Goode of Malden. He is scheduled to be deployed to active duty in Afghanistan in March.
Mr. and Mrs. Allen Black visited with Mrs. Esther Goza in Paragould, Ark., last week. ~~~~~~~~~ Local and area folks attended the Annual Ag Expo 2012 held at the Black River Coliseum in Poplar Bluff, Mo., last Friday and Saturday. Included were door prizes, tractor pull contest, and ag expo beauty contest. ~~~~~~~~~ Several Malden Girl Scouts of Troop 12 enrolled in group horse back riding on the first and third Saturdays of the month at the Sacagawea Barns near Cape Girardeau. ~~~~~~~~~ Mr. Chris Hon, Superintendent of the schools in Poplar Bluff appeared during an interview on television KFVS from Cape Girardeau last week. Chris is a native of Risco, Mo., and is a Risco high school graduate. ~~~~~~~~~ The Stokelan Drive Nursing and Rehab will conduct bingo games with prizes at the Malden Nutrition Center on Thursday morning January 26 in the conference room. ~~~~~~~~~ Dr. and Mrs. William Morehead attended the wedding and reception of their grandson, Travis Kilgore and Miss Xieiming Jin of Beijing, China. The wedding was solemnized in the Episcopal cathedral in Knoxville, Tn., the end of December. ~~~~~~~~~ Judy Kilmer Leet of Pacific, Mo.. spent last weekend in Malden with relatives and friends. Judy is a Malden high school graduate. |
