Ashli Wallace has returned to Webster University in St. Louis after spending a semester in Geneva, Switzerland where she furthered her studies in photo journalism. She spent time touring in Amsterdam, Paris, Munich and traveled extensively throughout Switzerland on class assignments. Ashli was also invited to spend four days in Bosnia on a special project documenting the war that raged throughout the region during the 1990s. Her photo story was highlighted in the campus gallery upon her return. She is scheduled to travel to Italy in May of 2012 for additional photography experience with the Webster University program. Ashli is the daughter of Steve Wallace and Judy Wallace. She is also a Malden High School graduate.

Two beautiful communion trays were found in long time storage at Malden First United Methodist Church. They have found their way to a church in Mozambique, East Africa. Pastor Pam Eakey of the Malden Church sent the trays to Carol Kramer of Pacific, Missouri, who in turn sent the trays to Mozambique.

Lewis and Pat Scott of Risco, Mo. have returned home after attending the Baptist Convention held in Tan Tara, Missouri last week. Lewis pastors the Baptist Church in Risco.

John Bostic and Brian Bostic of Bartellsville, Oklahoma spent last weekend visiting with Mart and Ann Bostic and other relatives.

Mrs. Leota Amerson of the Midwest Medical Services conducted a diabetic supply program at the Malden Nutrition Center last week Diabetic shoes, back braces and other related supplies were available for diabetic patients. This is a very valuable service for the Bootheel area.

Lewis and Pat Scott of Risco are the proud grandparents of a new baby girl, Olivia Dawn Smith born to David and Angela Smith of Oran, Mo. last month.

The National Campaign shoebox campaign was going on in Malden. Drop off for the filled boxes was the Stokelan Drive Christian Church in Malden.

The recent World War II veterans tour to Washington, D.C. was sponsored by the Midwest Bank of Poplar Bluff and Dexter. David Shaw of Malden attended the national tour.

Narvel Feltz appeared in concert at the Main Street Summer Fair held in Batesville, Ark. The national publication magazine "Eye On" filmed Narvel and he appeared in the magazine. A young fan, Kylie Crutcher, was filmed with Narvel and appeared in the magazine. Kylie is the grand niece of Betty Qualls of Malden.

The United Methodist Church Group met at the Malden Nutrition Center Conference room last Wednesday afternoon.

The First Southern Baptist Church of Malden entertained over five hundred folks and children at their "Fall Festival" in the fellowship hall following the Halloween parade. Hot dogs and finger foods were served with sodas.
