A festive birthday was held honoring Mrs. Eugene Royal last Monday afternoon in the party room of the Golden Living Center. Marilyn Douglas, Charla Royal and Fred Schmittler hosed the party. Lovely refreshments plus birthday cake and ice cream were served to the guests. Larry and Lee Hufford of Poplar Bluff, and Susie Hays of Malden provided the lively musical entertainment.

A small pies of the Berlin Wall was presented to the Malden Historical Museum recently by Mrs. Tinou Hampton of Malden. It was originally given to Tinou. as a gift from Judy Brow Rangness of Norway. Judy is a sister of Marta Brow Hampton of Malden.

New flags the United States flag, and the Missouri State flag are flying atop of the flag pole at the Malden Historical Museum.

Sonya Higgs, Kelley of Branson has returned home following a visit with relatives and friends in Malden. Sonya is a Malden graduate.

Pastor Pam Ekey of the Malden United Church has returned from attending a Methodist conference in Columbia, Mo. While there she visited with her mother, Mrs. Marilyn Ekey in Kansas City, Mo.

Thirty some young folks attended lock in at the First Christian Church fellowship hall last Friday evening. Games and food were enjoyed, led by Pastor Jeff and Kara Krupinski.

"A see you at the flag pole" invite is extended to all high and junior high Malden students Wednesday morning at 7:15 a.m. September 28.

Mrs. Joyce Malin of Piggot, Ark., visited the Malden Historical Museum last week. She is a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She gathered information from the museum to take to the State Convention in St. Louis September 24, 25, and 26.

Malden girl scout troop 412 enjoyed a back to school swim party last Sunday afternoon from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Junior and cadette girl scouts are listed as follows: Faith Garris, Cheyenne Thacker, Kassidy Walker, Hannah Risinger, Elaine Farmer, Taja Allen, Madison Ealey, Haven Wills, Haley Birmingham, Kennady Krepps, Allyssa Hoehn, Allyx Pfeifer, Terrah Brewer, and Courtney Watson. The following assisted: Jennifer Garris, Jeff Hoehn, Stuart Hoehn, and leader Karen Hoehn.

Brilliant St. Louis Cardinals player Albert Pujols was featured on CBS -- 60 Minutes last Sunday. The program mainly stressed Albert's exemplary philanthropic life style.
