The Malden Nutrition Center Thrift Store opened for businesses Monday, July 11. It will be open daily in the former AT&T building on Madison Street, next door to the Malden Branch Library.

The young folks, juniors and seniors, of First General Baptist Church of Malden attended Christian camp at Camp Allen at Lake Wappapello during the month of June. Pastor Jonathan Rice and his wife Angie were leaders during the Junior- Senior High session.

Shaun Burks has returned home following a stay at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

The regular foot clinic will be held at the Malden Senior Nutrition Center on Wednesday morning, July 20. The Hearing Aid Center will conduct screenings Tuesday morning, July 26 at the Malden Nutrition Center.

Courtney Burnett of Parma, a graduate of Risco High School, has been awarded a scholarship to the Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. She will major in elementary education.

Samantha Lee Dupree, a graduate of Gideon High School, was awarded a foundation scholarship to Southeast Missouri State University, Malden Branch.

John Hoehn of Branson, Mo. has a wild fish story to tell - with pictures for proof. He caught a 48 inch, 5 pound striped bass in Bull Shoals Lake last week.

The Stokelan Drive Christian Church conducted their annual Vacation Bible School in the Malden City Park. Dan Hargrove is the pastor.

Two Malden students made the dean's list at the Linn Technical School, Linn, Mo. near Jefferson City. Levin Miller is the son of Terry and Joy Miller. Kaly Longborough is the daughter of Ken and Phylis Longborough.

Cindy and Hannah Lester have returned from a Carnival Cruise. Embarking from Mobile, they traveled to Cozumel and Playa del Corinen, Mexico. They report a great trip.

Butch and Cindy Lester spent the Fourth of July holiday in Tulsa, Okla. with Harry Willis. Harry is a former Malden resident and a graduate of Malden High School.

The Malden Nutrition Center is sponsoring an Open House on Tuesday, July 26 at 10:00 a.m. at the newly remodeled Thrift Store.
