Mrs. Becky Pinkhas of Edwardsville. Ill.. and her sister Mrs. Kathy Geishi of Hardin, Ill., spent last Tuesday afternoon at the Malden Historical Museum. They were researching the history and background of their cousin, Sparrel Davis, and the Davis family backgrounds. Sparrel was a former Mayor of Malden.

The Junior Beta Club of Malden High School returned from the convention held in Branson last week, and the next day the senior, Beta Club of Malden High departed for the senior convention in Branson. Sessions were held in the Opryland Hotel in Branson.

The family of the late John Fields enjoyed a luncheon and fellowship hour in the hall of the First Christian Church last Tuesday.

Pastor Pam Ekey has returned from a United Methodist Convention held in Springfield, Ill.

The Stokelan Malden Nursing and Rehab conducted bingo games at the Malden Nutrition Center Thursday morning, with prizes presented to the winners.

Directory Betty Qualls of the Malden Nutrition Center attended the meeting of the Senior Citizens Area on Aging in Cape Girardeau, and won three door prizes, some for achievement and one for luck.

The pee-wee and t-ball baseball players and parents enjoyed a party picnic at the Malden City Park last Sunday. A cook-out, dunking booth and games were the order of the day. Players were accompanied by parents, coaches and volunteers.

Ladies from St. Ann's Catholic Church in Malden and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dexter attended the Catholic Ladies Regional meeting held at the Saint Cecelia's Catholic Church in Kennett last week.

Mrs. Angela Hoehn of Branson spent last week in Malden visiting with relatives and friends. She also visited with relatives in Sikeston.

Sister Mary Shelia Higdon, associate pastoral assistants of Saint George's Catholic Church in Van Buren and Piedmont, Mo., and Mrs. Barbara Bath of Dexter visited the Malden Historical Museum last Tuesday.

Area fans of Poplar Bluff's basketball star Tyler Hansborough viewed him in play on TV credibly for the Pro Indiana Pacer pro basketball game.
