The Malden High School class of 1969 enjoyed a reunion and a 60th birthday celebration at the Malden American Legion on Saturday evening, May 21. Randy Moore and Ronald Depew organized and hosted the affair. Paula Wilcox Russell prepared a memorial for the deceased classmates. Dinner was served to the classmates and guests, and Kenneth Busick's band provided the music and several classmates joined the band with favorite songs from the sixty's era. David Black took the class photos. In attendance were the following classmates: Ron DePew, Terry McGraw, Mike Cooper, Randy Moore, Mary Catherine Wofford, Renee Prentice, Paula Wilcox, Steve McPheeters, Ed McCarroll, Kenneth Busick, Walker Culp, Kenny Thompson, Rod Clark, Karen Kilmer Hoehn, Stokes Howell, Mike Deen, Jeannie Moore Herbet, and Debbie Trowbridge.

A number of the 1969 classmates enjoyed gatherings at various local classmates homes before and after the legion dinner.

The summer infusion of service will begin again in June for the youth and leaders of Malden First Christian Church. They are looking for yard projects to assist with.

The United Methodist Church of Malden participated in the collection of flood clean up kits for water ravished area victims.

Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie King have returned home following a weekend visit with Jeff and Josephine Kern and family of Parks, Ill. They attended the High School graduation of Trent from the South Zumevalt High School, in St. Charles, Mo.

A very handsome display rack of attractive vintage 1940 Malden picture post cards has been presented to the Historic Museum by Vernell A. Wade of Virginia Beach, Va. The cards were given to the late Helen Arnold of Malden, from Mrs. "Nana" Homer Bell during the 1940's.

Mrs. Maryteta Liltestrand of Thomponsville, Mi., and her mother Barbara Mills of Traverse City, Mi., spent last week with Malden relatives and also visited the Malden Historical Museum. They researched family history at the museum, Mrs. Mills being a Malden resident during her youth.

Doris Haus attended a reunion of the Graham Ford family held last Sunday at the Victorian Inn at Cape Girardeau.

A host of friends, co-workers and relatives surprised Mrs. Karen Hoehn in her home on her last day of teaching at the Campbell school system. She retired after 28 years of teaching. A large buffet and dessert table graced the dining room table for the many guests. Karen's sisters Sharon Kilmer Deen, Judy Kilmer Leet and Joanie Kilmer Greer hosed the event.
