The Malden Girl Scout Troop 412 were conferred a badge ceremony Monday evening in the fine new Malden Nutrition Center. The impressive ceremony included trooping of the colors by the scouts. Recognition was given to the Brownies, Cadets and Junior Scouts. Scouts participating were: Cheyenne Thacker, Madison Ealey, Haven Wills, Haley Brimingham, Kassidy Walker, Kennady Krepps, Allyssa Hoehn, Hannah Risinger, Courtney Watson, Faith Garris, Taja Allen, and Elaine Farmer. Mrs. Karen Hoehn is the scout leader. Punch and cake was served by the scouts to everyone present.

Mrs. Stanfield, a teacher in the Gideon School system was honored last week as the "Teacher of the Year". She is retiring after thirty years, and the Cape Girardeau KFVS staff honored her devoted teaching and she appeared on KFVS television -A lifetime of devotion and love.

Mrs. Sharon Deen of Malden and Mrs. Judy Leet of Pacific, Mo. spent last weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Reggie Greer of Bella Vista, Ark.

Mr. and Mrs. Rick Twist of Rogers Ark., have returned home following a stay with relatives in Malden.

Mrs. Martha Vines and Welton Cronon spent last weekend in Springfield, Mo., where they attended the commencement exercises of Missouri State University on Saturday. Samuel R. Gibson of Springfield, the grandson of Mrs. Martha Vines, received a Masters Degree in electronic arts. He is the son of Danny and Stacey Gibson of Springfield, formerly of Dexter. Danny was reared in Malden and is a 1977 Malden High School graduate.

Mrs. Angela Pace and family have returned home to Roanoke, Va., following an Easter week with her father Fred Schmittler.

The Grace Health Care and Marilyn Smith RN will conduct a foot clinic at he Malden Nutrition Center every third Wednesday beginning June 15th. This includes toe nail clipping, etc. with a fee of $5.00. Call the Nutrition Center for an appointment. There is a donation fee of $5.00.

Mrs. Barbara Bath, Mrs. Estelle Martin of Dexter and Virgina Hoehn were luncheon guests of Sister Mary Sheila Higdon, Pastoral Associate of Saint George's Catholic Church in Van Buren last Saturday. Sister Mary is also Pastoral Associate for Saint Catherine of Sienna Church in Piedmont.

Bruce and Bonnie Shipley of O'Fallon, Mo., have returned home following a visit to Malden. The Shipley's donated vintage items owned by Mrs. Pruitt Snider to the Malden Historical Museum.
